Default I've almost got my new gun!

I "pulled the trigger" (boo!) and purchased a Kel-Tec P-32 for my wife from a user on ktog.com . Ended up paying $330 for the gun, 250 rounds of ammo, 3 holsters, hard case, an extra mag, and some other stuff. It is a used gun that has had the plastic mag button replaced with a metal one. It had one of the hard chrome slides and the PO sanded the finish off of it and polished it. I've sent the money and it should be a few days before it gets shipped to my FFL. We will go to the range two days from now with some friends and rent a P-32 (for the THIRD time!) to play with. I figure the other couple going with us will probably buy a P-32 as well based on my wife's recommendation. I've been thinking about it and I will probably purchase a second one as my every day carry since my wife will keep this one for herself. I was thinking about getting the 380 but why buy two different types of ammo for the range. We will load some hot rounds in them to carry with us so that should help as far as stopping power.

The armalasers are 119 on ebay and crimson trace are 165. I'd like to get one but I want to do some research first. Not sure if both are instant on but I will find out.

Welcome to the club!

Now tell your miata that your sorry and it wont get any more money. Owning guns is another expensive hobby to have along with modding cars. Ever since I got my first gun the amount spent on my miata has dropped significantly.

Loose that nickel plated sissy pistol and get yourself a Glock.

I own a PF9 myself; the first carry gun I purchased. It's the perfect size for a miata's center console. Usually I carry a Glock 23 though. Both are full of Federal HST.

What good is a laser except for show? A defense gun will be used within 15 feet with point aim and in a hurry.
Unless you are filming a movie scene...

+1, thats why i dont have one. if you LEGALLY defend your self with a gun, you will be within a few feet. if farther, well dont drop the soap. the only laser i would even think about getting is one of the guide rod lasers like you can get for the glocks, because those don't add any extra bulk.

I have a guide rod laser on my Glock 22 nightstand weapon. My eyes suck to begin with, and if it's ever needed, I doubt I'd have time to put in contacts or grab glasses. Plus when your adrenaline is pumping, your eyes switch to far-distance mode, making it impossible to even see your rear sights.

When lasermax comes out with a green guide rod laser for the G23, I'll get it and use the 23 for both carry and nightstand use and sell the 22. Or not sell the 22, they're kind of addicting.

When I am standing around the corner and drop you because the red dot is on your chest you will not be asking that. How do you use sites in the dark? A laser will work even if the gun is down by my knees.

Plus, I might want to film a movie scene <G>...

The Crimson Trace is instant on and allows a quick "sighting" without having to rely on the micro-sights on a pocket gun.

In a pressure situation, FBI statistics show a shooter looses 30-40 points on their accuracy. I want to make sure I hit the bad guy, not whatever happens to be behind him.

Yea, not exactly a concealed weapon. I remember getting in an elevator at the Sterling Bank Building in black BDU's, tactical vest and it slung onto my back. When I turn around the lady already in started to get out. Then the bank vice president (friend of mine) walked in smiled and we struck up a conversation. This seam to put the lady at ease and she decided to stay. Tense world since 9-11.

1. You don't aim within 15 feet in an emergency. Any real instructor will tell you that. You point shoot.
You use the sights for distance or at paper targets, not for in-close defense.

2. You better like orange jumpsuits if you shoot somebody at +15 feet.

3. Lasers work both directions in the dark. I don't want the hood to know where to aim his gun. Don't you guys ever read about these things? This is pretty basic stuff here.

4. If you want a toy laser for your gun, great. Just don't think for a minute that it is a serious tool. Seriously, enjoy it!

55% of gunfights take place 0-5 feet.
• 20% of gunfights take place in 5-10 feet.
• 20% of gunfights take place in 10-21 feet.
• 95% of gunfights take place in 0-21 feet.
(Source- FBI)
• Seek and use cover. Be aware of false cover. (ie bushes - that's concealment, not cover)
• The average gunfight is over in 3-5 seconds.
• 3 to 4 shots are usually fired.
• Most gunfights take place in low light conditions.
• On average, one shot in four strikes someone.

1. You don't need to aim with sights within 3 feet or so, but after that, you'd damn sure need to use a sighting device, or be prepared to either lose the encounter due to miss, or wear orange jump suit due to striking the wrong target.

• The average man can cover 21 feet of ground in 1.5 seconds.
• The average man cannot draw a gun from concealment in under 2 seconds.

2. Appx 1 of 5 gunfights occur at 15+ feet.

• On average, one shot in four strikes someone.
• Most gunfights take place in low light conditions.
• In diminshed lighting situations, hit probability lowers by 30%
• The average shooter using a laser sighting device increases his hit count 20-30%.

3. Lasers DO NOT "work both directions". It's just a dot on a target, there is no light saber like "trail" through the air like in a Bond Movie. Don't you read about these things? This is pretty basic stuff here.

4. Lasers are intended to be suppliment standard sights and training, not replace them. However they do allow for defensible aimed fire with concurrent threat focus. Lasers allow for lower target aquisition times and greater shot confidence. Furthermore, while I was unable to find supporting statistics, police officers utilizing lasers are reporting great reductions in firing weapons after targeting suspects.

5. Nice pretzel
