It was a clean 05 spiral gray or something simlar, 75k miles and one (lady) owner. very very clean. She wants 13.5 which I thought was a steal at first, but then I ran the KBB.

WOWWWW

These cars don't hold value for crap. I was shocked that even private party good condition it was at like 12.7 and down. For a car that's only 8 years old and was 35k new. Didn't want to lowball the lady, so i passed.

If I would be planning to keep this car for long term and not care about losing money, I'd get one in a heartbeat. I really really like them still

Did you drive it? If so, what's your review?

The 13.5 isn't a killer deal at that mileage, but try finding another one in that kind of shape at that price. Most '05-'06 models are priced $15k and above. The ones that are priced lower have over 100k miles on them usually, or aren't in great shape (like mine). They're rare enough that the clean ones still command over book.

Just like Miatas and VW TDIs... book value isn't as important as what they're selling for. That being said, you're definitely better off if you're going to keep it a while. :2cents:

The KBB values really don't mean squat for some cars, it's worth exactly what people will pay/the going rate.

$13.5k for a super clean 05 doesn't sound unreasonable. Look around at what GTO's are selling at and I would say that's definitely in the ball park.

Nah. Didnt want to be one of those tire kickers since I wasn't set on buying it 100%.

Of course you guys have a valid point, but the ones around here all seem to be on CL for a lonnnng time so I gather they really aren't selling well either.

I mean I was really surprised at the low pricing, I personally think its a 4 seater corvette with much higher quality interior (when compared to c5 that is) which is a big plus in my book.

But this is a matter of want, not need. This would be an extra car, not my primary one, so I can't really buy something I know I'll lose money on.

I'll just keep looking and waiting lol

Wrong. Don't use the youtube link, just the identifier code from the link (it's the chunk of letters and numbers after the "=" in the link. Like this:

And that gives you this:

Yeah... They're not a car that's currently in huge demand, except in the FPFQ crowd and they're sporadic.

Just depends on what you want, you know? I really do think they're not depreciating anymore for one in nice shape. A 45k mile '06 goes for about the same amount now that it did 5 years ago. Chances are, if you buy one right, you won't lose money on it. That being said, you might not sell it super quickly either when it's time to sell. A price to pay for a comfortable, practical, powerful, subtle 400 HP coupe. Pretty cheap price, honestly.

I had started to type about how they're not dropping in value, blah blah.......

When I bought mine, I swear KBB showed somewhere around 14k KBB. Maybe it was NADA though because now KBB is showing 10,946 in good condition (which mine is, not very good or excellent).

So... After 5 years I'll probably sell it for 9-10k or so, which it only 1-2k less than I paid for it. Altogether, pretty easy depreciation, especially when you consider that there's nothing else like it.

Edit to add: Waiting and looking is good, deals come up. You never know what sort of deal people will take. If she's thinking about trading in, maybe she'd take $12k and if it's real clean it's worth that easy. Or you could find one that's a wee bit behind on maintenance and get it for less (like mine). Or you could find a super clean one with low low miles and a few tasteful mods for 16k (that'd be my choice, and would have been, if I'd had 16k! FPFQ...).

OK OK... no new updates with my car yet as I'm still broke, but just started a new job and all that should change soon.

HOWEVER... I HAD to share this car that's for sale over on ls1GTO.com. It's got the APS twin turbo kit which is the most beautiful aftermarket kit I've ever seen. It looks like it would be at least as durable as a factory setup. I have drooled over this kit time and time again.

Plus the car is white.
