The owner of that car is (no lie) probably one of the best examples of a retarded honda owner ever.

The funniest thing of all is he truly believes that this setup will make upwards of 400 whp and beat alot of decently fast cars around town when its done..we all call him del-tegra because of the first monstrosity he brought before the honda world.

He makes me extremely embarrassed to own a honda and i especially hate the fact that i bet he thinks that that joke of a setup is better than say..... mine.
I just hope it stays together long enough so i can rape it with a heavier car, full interior, and ill make sure to turn my boost down lower than his.

I'm going to make the trip up there with some friends! In my experience kids like this can't launch worth shit. All they know is 40 roll. My boy Drob will take him out with 150 horses in his EF hatch.

As long as he has his non anti lag, crome free tuned, 2-step i am sure he thinks he has a chance.

I worked on one of his cars in the past and learned my lesson, all he wanted was to be able to go wom bom bom at every redlight, and of course thought his stock ls was going to be "fast" from a simple street tune.

he blew my phone up for 2 weeks trying to get me to work on this most recent hunk of junk and after i finally got it through his head i wont work on his cars anymore he had the balls to ask me to let him borrow my tuning equipment and give him a few pointers...

Im ready to snap on that kid for making me ashamed to own my car.

I wish we could find a pic of the ol' del-tegra, lol

Tw34k 02-04-2010 07:29 PM

I have always wanted one of those, but my soviet flag bumper sticker sometimes gets me some wierd looks.

I'd like you to show me a turbo honda with a filter...then I'd be amazed.

SKMetalworks 02-05-2010 08:45 AM

Honda's don't need air filters. Creates to much of a restriction.

Whats the big deal... and how can a BOV suck up anything when its meant to release positive pressure? You must be talking about the not having a filter... It's not the most ideal placement, but i don't see how its going to do any detrimental damage being there.

 You do understand how that type of BOV operates right?

mosts BOVs are opened whenever the car is in vacuum, some with stiffer springs dont open until hiogher vacuum levels so it will be closed while cruising, but theyre still typically opened during idle and deceleration. And yes, under these circumstances they can sometimes pull air in.

Not having a filter on the turbo is one thing, Ive known ppl to get away with it for a good while. The inlet of the turbo is in the air stream blowing off the radiator fan and its a ways off the ground so It probably wont suck up a whole lots.

But the BOV is like 2 inches from the ground, its gonna suck up loads of sand and whatnot.

really?

Vaccum is a very fast and powerful thing, my vacuum will bump to -20 on deceleration on the guage. When that throttle plate closes, and the boost is released, sometimes the valve stays open until the vacuum rises above -10, or depending on the spring rate. That is why they have recurculating valves which is protected by the air filter, some poeple put crank case filters on their BOVs, and others just put it a place either high above closer to hood level, or on a side of a charger pipe with the discharge facing toward the ground. I at leas put a SS screen on my BOV and have it on the side of a charge pipe.
