I have a peeping tomcat problem.
This is Mexican Goulash (we gave him the name...) He is a stray that lives in and around my yard and possibly under my kitchen and shed. He thinks he wants to live with us. And one night our babysitter let him in after our son (2 and a half yrs old) suggested to her that he was our cat Abby. They look very similar. I didn't even notice he was inside until i caught a glimpse of his tail. Our cat's tail bends to her right about half way up. His was hanging low. I did a double take and chased him around and eventually sent him back outside. He pesters us every day. He's really very sweet and friendly and appears to be well-fed.

This is our cat Abby for reference.

he's perfectly fine outside. not that i dont love cats, but i'd rather not acquire a potentially costly second cat. we just had to put our other cat down last year because of illness and i'm sure a neighborhood stray has not had his _____ recently.
Yes, but its like buying another Miata. This will give you a chance to catch up with cat maintenance.

I'll mention it to our vet and see what she thinks. They probably didn't come near each other (ROWR HISS RUN!) and I washed all the food/water bowls otherkitty came in contact with very thoroughly.

Outer cat who looks well fed, loves people, and has no collar almost tells me that it's an inner cat that has gotten out.
Looks for lost cat posters, telephone posts, the internet, the city hall?
If he was mangy, or didn't like people I wouldn't think twice that he was just a free roam cat.
I dunno.

Is true.
I've posted around. Nobody owns the cat but many know it.
I tried so hard to ignore it and make sure not to feed it, but after it got in and ate a BIG MEAL, I feel we are doomed.
Oh well, one indoor cat and one outdoor free range cat.
Maybe he'll keep the varmints out of our house and garden.

I love working cats. For centuries, rodent control was their primary value to humans. It was only just recently with the invention of clay based kitty litter in the middle of the 20th century that millions of cats started living indoors only.

^^
here he is hard at work on one of our outdoor chair cushions:

small update: I think he's declawed. He started trying to knead the cushion and nothing happened.
