I'll be returning Aires saturday. Cute kitty but hes not a lap cat. Wont let anyone pet him or even get near him. A month later he still spends all the time we're at home with him behind the couch.

 

I've had pookie for almost 4 years and he nevers sits on my lap. took belle around 7 years and hobbes around the same.

 

Well i dont care about him sitting on my lap or whatever the issue is that he wont let anyone get close to him, much less pet him.

 

 

Looks like Athens? I feel like I've seen that place, but I was super jetlagged and a bit delirious when I was there last so /shrug?

I now have a kitty friend!!!!!

Her name is Reba (shelter named her), and she is about 3. I got her home last night, and am already indulging in tummy rubbing sessions and general cuddles. She's not a huge fan of sitting on me, she likes the floor, so I sit down there with her. I think the squishy-ness of the couch/bed bothers her, because she keeps stepping on it, lifting her foot, looking puzzled, stepping again, etc.


I am allergic to cats, but Reba and her long hair don't seem to bother me. Her current favorite spot is between the wall and the back of the couch, but when I offer petting she happily comes out. She's already used her cat-box, and eaten her food and drank maybe 6fl/oz of water (that I've seen).




She has her claws, and they look like they've been recently trimmed. However, I bought this wavy looking cardboard thing for scratching, but she has zero interest in trying it. Any advice on getting her interest on approved scratching items before she is really dying to scratch? And does anyone have opinions of Authority (petsmart brand) Chicken and Rice Formula dry food? It's what the shelter/petsmart uses. The main ingredients are chicken, chicken meal, brewers rice, ground corn, corn protein concentrate, and chicken fat. Her coat is very soft, and she seems happy and healthy, I just want to make sure it's MT approved.
