Yeah the "wet food for long term kidney health" thing wasn't so prevalent when i first "shopped" for food for these guys. Especially in a male cat, i think a full diet of kibble isn't the way to go. But this all becomes a matter of opinion at this point.

With a side of hindsight. Bleh.

We have to do dry food because kitty is on a special intestinal health formula for her MASSIVE POOPS.

FOSTER!

I know all you **** with your "cats" think you're cool... but kittens are where the magic is. I posted about this before, but we've been fostering for a local rescue and it's been awesome. Granted, we have a concrete-floor enclosed lanai that is play-central for them so it's really easy, but they come and go and it's been great. This crew puts us over 30 total kittens for the year. We keep them for a month or so until they hit some magic weight limit and then get flown to Washington State to be adopted. The crazy-cat lady that runs the local rescue we get them from keeps track of all of them and says specifically the kittens we foster for her are gone in a day or two once they hit the shelter. We play with them through the day and they get socialized around our hi-energy whippet/terrier mix.

If you have space in your home and can give them a couple hours a day between all the people in your family, it's worth it. The kids get to name them all and sit out there and read, do homework... and all the neighborhood kids come over daily, so they get tons of people time. If you have the means and you're a cat ***, you'll love the never-ending kitten life.

After years without kittehs, finally have a fur ball again. Meet Boris, a Russian Blue. "They" say Russian Blues don't shed. I'm optimistically skeptical.

When we got him - they said he was 6 weeks old but I have doubts about that. A little small for 6 weeks, and he hadn't transitioned off milk yet. It took some experimenting with different wet food brands and mixing in probiotics to get him eating and digesting well.

Now ~7 weeks later. He pretty much runs the show. Almost lets us get a full night of sleep without interruptions. Almost.

By far the best cats I've had have come to me "too young" at 5 to 6 weeks.
They become an integral part of the family and I do not believe they consider themselves cats.
They are always the BOSS.
Boris rules!!!

StratoSteve, Roar looks more like YAWN and fall over to sleep on nice blanket or s t r e a c h and get some petting. That's a nice red tabby!

Old cat is getting old. Her pupils do not dilate like they used to.

I **** you not. This picture was almost 15 years ago. A little after we got her from the pound. (who said they thought she was 10 years old already)

Old cat is old.
She looks like she still had a bit of "Marty Feldman eyes" going on back then though.

Ahh, crap. Sizing fail.
