My man PJ, one of our two polydactyl kitties. He's got 6 toes on each front paw, and 5 on each of his rear paws. He's got a little sister Polly who looks exactly like him, just smaller. They were wild, only about 6 weeks old, when we took them in after they showed up at our house. We already had two "senior" cats, 17 and 14 years old, so having too crazy kids definitely livened the place up. Except PJ does like to crash, as the pictures show.

My old boy Patton. He's 14 and still kicking, even after being attacked by a dog a few months back ($2200 in vet bills yay). We call him "Dog" most of the time because he literally acts more like a dog than a cat.

My 13-year-old cat B.B. is not having a good day. Yesterday he seemed a bit off, not wanting attention and not eating very much. As he is an indoor/outdoor cat, he often hunts and eats outside, so that was not a big deal.

This morning we woke up to him with a swollen face. This picture was taken at the vet's office about an hour ago. He is scheduled to undergo surgery soon, to drain the abscess and determine the cause.

I used to have an old indoor/outdoor tomcat that fought constantly when let out at night. He often swelled up like that when the claw punctures to his face (from his conquests) would get abscessed. He always cleared up ok after lancing the wound sites and letting the pus out. What concerns me about that pic of BB is the right eye. Did that happen at the same time, or was he already like that? Best wishes for your little guy.

Vet says eye problem is likely a result of the infection; pressure built up and blocked the tear duct. Doc said it should be fine in a day or two. She also said infection looked like the result of a fight, as the teeth were fine, which we feared (BIG bucks). They gave us pain meds, but he just went and hid in his usual spot. I didn't feel it was necessary to drag him out, and just left him. He did take the pill (gabapentin), as it was put in cream cheese, one of his favorite treats. He was given antibiotic shot after the wound was cleaned.

B.B. is already feeling a lot better and was very annoyed that I wouldn't let him out as usual this morning. Eye is already looking much better. Not the first time this has happened, and probably not the last. He's a scrapper.

My yellow cat, when he wants attention, sometimes acts naughty. Typical behavior includes chewing on cords, scratching the wall or furniture and climbing up where he knows he shouldn't be. Well, this morning, he wasn't getting the treats he thought he should, so he bit the corner of my wife's monitor.

This is the result:

Our oldest passed last night. I guess this doesnt get any easier. We rescued him from the streets. He had a damn good life with us. Passed in his favorite basket/blanket.

He had been diagnosed with CKD, just two weeks ago. We struggled to get him to eat. Gave him sub Q fluids at home. In the end, it was just too much.
