Spent last week in Sicily and this was my get-around- a Fiat mini bus. Not sure what made it so cool: the 2.0L turbo diesel, five speed, seats 7 comfortably (big on the inside, small outside) or the fact that it was rugged enough to drive all over the side of Mt. Etna.

Actually not that far off. Padre de Familia (in law) was visiting his roots and celebrating his 75th. We made home base at a place called Arathena Rocks south of Catania in Giaridini Nixos. Good deal even though the dollar is week- ~$100/day with two meals, view of Etna from the balcony, pool and snorkeling in the Med right out the back door... but I gots my connections
Didn't have much time to enjoy the scenery. Had to visit 30 hotels in 6 days
the weather was excellent then though.
We didn't even have time to go through my town (Trapani, which is my last name aswell)

Its just amazing...diff ways of life too. Over there its not about having all these material things...just the basics, maybe a LIL more, and enjoying quality of life...
My plan is to retire there...
