So I've got a conundrum on my hands:

Wife wants Netflix etc. on TV and is tired of plugging in laptop. I've been using iRacing for a while as my racing sim but I figured hey, why not get a PS3 or XBOX and we're both happy. We don't care about blue-ray which is the only real edge the PS3 seems to have.

That said, which is better GT5 or Forza?--that's going to be my tie breaker. I've read a bunch of comparisons online and they seem to be all about graphics and crap I don't care about. I want to know, when it comes to physics and general car building mayhem which game is better? I know you guys like me are a bunch of track day driving car building maniacs so I trust your opinion more than some gamer blogger guy that doesn't relate to me. I don't play video games and don't really care about the normal stuff--I want a racing sim.

Keep in mind, XBOX already has extra wife points because of the Just Dance Kinect game so if GT5 is the winner I'll have to fight hard for it. If it is better, by how much and why?

Another is advantage of PS3 is you don't have to pay a subscription to play online.

But I also know there are quite a few members here that host races on Forza.

GT5 is crap. I waited years and years for that game, and it is a huge let down.

I haven't played Forza 4 so I can't say anything about it.

 

GT5 = Miata.net

Forza 4 = Miataturbo.net

literally. They play GT5 with FM, and a bunch of us play F4.

 

Gt5 is fooking dreadful, get the Xbox and Forza

This is coming from a PS3 & GT5 owner.

Oh and the PS3 online might be free, but it's awful compared to the XBox implementation
