yeah, it looked like 59 was having a lot of fun ripping through that field. It was definitely way too fast for that field. He would pas 3-6 cars on every lap coming out of turn 1.

I'm hooked on this **** man. I just have to find a non-miata.

Find an old 302 Ford Maverick four door for cheap or free in the weeds. Extra rust would be required.

I don't think that one has been done. Probably for good reason.

The grille of Damocles was given to the MGB-GT. Those guys were out of control. One of them had his driver's credentials rescinded.

I was on the two-miata team of Red-Pig Racing, cars number 56 and 59. Both were fast. #59 was a '94 that had nothing done to it except the safety stuff and as much stripping as we could do. It did have a torsen, but it was stock to the car. #56 was a miss-mash of NA6 parts. It also had an OEM viscous diff that we got docked 55 laps for having. It did have an intake and a straight-through exhaust. It also helped that we had a number of SpecMiata racers including John Phillips III. Those guys weren't slow.

I personally find the Miata hatred out of place. Beat up (cosmeticly challenged) Miata sell for so cheap it's easy to build a decent $500 Miata. I personally bought a gorgeous 1991 Miata with good white paint, a new softtop and a hardtop at an auction for $850. The only problems were a dead battery, lots of dirt, and horrible sun-baked vinyl stripes. If I sold the hardtop for $800, it would be a $50 Miata. I know of another cheap Miata that's complete and runs for $300 with no title and a short-nose issue. I bought a running 200k mile 1.6 engine for $50 that will supply some parts.

FWIW, within the last three months I've also bought a running AWD Subaru Legacy Wagon for $225 and a really nice '86 AE86 with a 4AC and ignition issues for $175. Just because a car might be worth more somewhere else, doesn't mean it wasn't worth crap in a bad market.

can I have the legacy wagon for a daily driver? lol

I think the hatred is reasonable...these cars don't belong out there, its just not fair.
