Just a note.

I indulge in tasteless racial humor as much as the next guy. I just make sure that I know my audience. I don't fire off race jokes wherever and whenever I feel like it, expecting the whole world to understand my humor, especially in a context where it is completely unexpected.

I've seen some shitty things said on this forum, specifically regarding that ugly piece of **** pink Miata, and some dumbassed Miata.net poster. I'm in my 40s now and I've learned to deal with a lot of ****. But when it comes out of left field like that, I just don't know what to think. That's probably why I usually avoid "B.S. threads".

Obviously, a lot of guys know each other here and feel comfortable talking about a lot of things. Cool. I'm not here to put a buzzkill on the party, but there are a couple of us of color out here who drive sleeper 10 psi Miatas.

Honestly, I laugh at stupid jokes as much as anybody, but when you're walking in from the outside, it's just hard to tell who's joking and who actually believes the ****.

 

Oh, and BTW, I know this particular thread is completely tongue in cheek for the most part and it was easy to guess what the content was going to be. I made the choice to click on it and read through it and I'm not trying to **** on this particular party. I've seen a hell of a lot worse/better, depending on how you look at it.

I'm mostly talking about completely random comments in completely random threads.

 

This is true, sometimes its hard to say who is joking and who is being a jackass.

There is a gay pink miata with the stack, and there there is that sweet one gotta clarify.

 

My comments come from the movie "Clerks 2", it's hilarious but it helps to watch Clerks 1 first. Anyone up for a Tijiuana Donkey Show?

speaking of dave chappelle, I would love to see some of the 6+ hrs that he did at the laugh factory. I hope someone recorded that ****.

 

i agree with you. at first i was like woah....seems all the jokes are thrown on the blacks.... wtf is up? stuff like this is why i left my local car forum like a year back, things got out of hand. but instead of going through that again, i just tried to have some fun with it. cause i really do know ins and outs about how black people are, cant comment on others, just because im always surrounded by tons of color. but i also know that stereotypes will never die down and the only one to blame for them is a race on its own.

it used to **** me off, cause so many blacks down when i was in louisiana complained about being discriminated against, yet they did nothing to help it...just carried on with the stereotypes.

im not trying to come at you man, im half black myself....like i say i just know black people.. lol

Not sure how anybody could know the ins and outs of how any large group of people are. I can get around here in Los Angeles. I've spent some time now in Seattle. The people are different, period. I have friends here in Los Angeles who are originally from the south, but that's as far as I go about knowing anything about anyone from the south. Don't even want to talk about the East Coast. Whatevahs.

 

people are people plain and simple you are either worth a **** or you arent in my book. Black white Green brown, yellow, whatever it doesnt matter to me its just a color.

Over the next many decades, inter-racial marriage will reduce racism more than anything else. I have seen the changes in my own lifetime. The real bigots are dying off of old age(my mother and stepfather were examples of this).

Now if we could only lock up the crazies again like we used to.

 

Brings to mind one of my favorite stories:

My first wife followed me to Germany after we were married and we lived on the "economy" that is off post, downtown.

We were invited to a gathering at the Sergeant Major's house where many officers and enlisted were in attendance(I was an E4), with and without wives.

As we were leaving, my wife asked me who the black man was that I was talking to. I couldn't think who she was talking about until she told me we were talking helicopters. My next very serious question was "is he black?", to which she accused me of putting her on.

The service is a great equalizer also.

Now here is a question for you guys... do you consider someone racist if they holler racial slurs at people when pissed off (like say a mexican cuts your off and you cuss and scream and call him a damn spic)? Keep in mind this person also calls white folks that pisses them off redneck, *******, douche bag, ----, etc...

 

umm...not too sure on that one....cause in my mind, everyone that pisses me off in traffic is a bitch and deserves a swift roundhouse to the face... mexican/black/white/asian...whatever... they all bruise the same way

 

I just wanted to reiterate, in case I caused any hard feelings. I love all races, religions, colors - you name it. We were all put on this earth by who or whatever to enjoy the fruits of the earth and eachother and to do right by eachother. We're all stuck on this big mound of dirt travelling through space together and need to be tolerant of eachother's differences and get along that is of course except Asians. I hate Asians.

 

it's laziness racism. so yeah, I'll consider them racist. There's an internal filter we all have that we can choose to use or not. instead of a racial slur, choose another word.
