He designed it like this so the coolant hose cools the turbo via diffusion.

The thread wasn't nearly as funny as the photos and his description in the original post, to be honest.

It was amusing just because butthurt, but nothing special.

Ok, can everyone view the photos posted by concealer? I was going to save them and upload them here, but I think that's what he did. No idea, cause I can actually see the originals.

Here's his reroute:

So, Hyper's goal with his reroute is to....raise his coolant temp?

Okay Ive never personally owned a turbo car or even a miata and I have some comments.

Im used to the overpriced ---- in the Fbody crowd. Some guys makes a splitter for our cars (completely for aesthetics as it doesnt even sit parallel to the ground, but front up instead)
Its a piece of ABS plastic that is 350 dollars. I wanted one, so I looked into it. I can get the ABS for 2 for 75 shipped, and I called about water jetting it, and the guy said if I supply the file and the materials Im looking at 50 a sheet. so Im at like 120 for one. But those brackets are seriously overpriced, Ive got a friend with a machine shop, and he probably make the design and cut them for like 30 bucks.

I dont know the flow cycle of the miata cooling system, and am too lazy to look it up, but Id worry with the thermostat closed and essentially no coolant movement in the block that in that spot the coolant would get hot as hell.

And I was under the impression that the reroute was to reduce a hot spot on cylinder 4, but with this the coolant hitting 4 is still going to be hot as hell, seems redudant.

Isnt there a bunch of turbo manifold (any top mounts) that this wont fit.

Why not develop something to route it under the intake manifold, if there is room (I dont know), it would be on the cold side (where the smart money is) and if you kept it hidden the guys doing the tucked/clean look underhood would like it to.

Those brackets looks way to big and overly complicated for holding a coolant hose.

Seems like more of a visual mod, and its still ugly so its a fail/fail in my book.

1. Like every other reroute.

2. Correct.

3. Correct and correct again. Our books must read about the same.... Minus my hatred for the LT1.
