Default Look what I just bought for $100 (Remington 1100 12GA)

Picked it up tonight:

The only thing wrong with it is that there is a broken weld on the barrel. So, as soon as I can get a chance I will do a quick weld on it and have a perfectly good gun. FWIW, the weld looks HORRIBLE! I cannot believe it came from the factory like this:

I'm not sure if I am going to keep it or press my luck and sell it for enough money to buy a cheap 20 GA pump shotgun (which is what I really want).

you pick up cool toys (guns) about as often as my grandpa

I would say if you can fix it, that would be a nice gun to keep.

I only have one use for a shotgun and that is home defense. I would like to have a 20 ga with a short barrel so this still is the not the shotgun for me. Maybe I can find someone to trade with locally.

Drop it by my house and I can weld just as shitty a weld to put it back to "new".

Oh, ok. Was wondering why the trend towards shot guns.

In that case you definitely only need what you really want and are comfortable with.

Shouldn't have a problem selling it.

Fix it and turn it into a sawed-off. Then you can hide it under the seat for the next time someone calls you a hair dressing homo.

No sawed-off. Shotgun barrel less than 18", rifle less than 16" is a felony. Don't do it unless you want to go through the NFA process and pay the tax.

If not then I wouldn't worry about the federal guidelines or tax.

It is however worth going through once you've got several toys "big brother" likes keeping track of, and are fond of taking them to the back of your property for entertainment.

EDIT: Since it is for home defense though, do follow the law, as you are likely to get sued by the perps family should you be required to use it, and an illegal weapon will end up costing your *** in civil court.

Almost forgot, don't give a warning shot!

Default Product idea for you...

Have you guys seen those motion sensor alarms that sound like a German Sheppard barking it's head off?

I've always though a version of that alarm that had the sound of a 12 gauge getting racked would be so much more effective.

There really is no sound like a shell getting chambered...

If you were serious about buying it you should have made a better offer. I just bought another barrel for it so the price has now jumped a couple hundred $.

I was kidding with the price lol, in a hurry posting at work. I'm looking for a cheap shotgun in the 150 range, wish I would have seen your reply a few days ago but it's all good. If you end up buying anything else that needs work thay you would part with let me know. Contemplating a mossberg 500 in the near future.

I will go with you on the Zombies Beware part. I just picked up this at the local gun store.

Now we just need someone to get a sniper rifle and we have a complete left4dead team.
