It just goes to show how much of the market is purely emotionally based trades and not ones based on logic and reasoning. We are susceptible to this happening again and it will in due time, but probably not to this magnitude. Just as when the market was falling in February and March of last year, there was little to no evidence that it should really be that low. There was no data to back the need for the Dow to be at 6700 and most knew it. That's why there was so much easy money to be made from the people that thought it was going lower as you sold them put options and bought call options at the same time.
