I have tried Absinthe several time. Every time I have done it the bottle has cost over 150$ per liter. So 67$ for a bottle seems cheap for decent Absinthe. I would suggest strongly that you drink it correctly. http://www.absinthefever.com/absinthe/drink has the different ways of doing correctly. I personally mix the fire and water method. I pour some Absinthe first. Then put the spoon with a sugar cube over it. I light the sugar cube on fire and let it burn for a little bit. Then I slowly pour water over and let that drip down. I have found that this method gives me the best buzz/hallucinations. I have also found that doing shots just gets you drunk and thats it. Also drinking other things with it also will probally end up with you just getting drunk and not hallucinating.

I was going to buy some a few years back. Of course, I did some research first and found that it was complete BS. Save your money and buy some 151!
From Wikipedia:
...Although absinthe was vilified, no evidence has shown it to be any more dangerous than ordinary liquor. Its psychoactive properties have been much exaggerated.
...Spurred by the temperance movement and wine makers' associations, absinthe was publicly associated with violent crimes and social disorder.
...Today it is known that absinthe does not cause hallucinations, especially ones similar to those described in 19th century studies. Thujone, the supposed active chemical in absinthe, is a GABA antagonist and while it can produce muscle spasms in large doses, there is no evidence that it causes hallucinations. It has been speculated that reports of hallucinogenic effects of absinthe may have been due to poisonous chemicals being added to cheaper versions of the drink in the 19th century, to give it a more vivid colour.
...In 1905 it was reported that Jean Lanfray murdered his family and attempted to kill himself after drinking absinthe. The fact that he was an alcoholic who had drunk considerably after the two glasses of absinthe in the morning was overlooked, and the murders were blamed solely on absinthe.[26] The Lanfray murders were the last straw, and a petition to ban absinthe in Switzerland was signed by over 82,000 people.

That is where I usually get mine from. It definately is costly but usually well worth it. I think i hae only hallucinated once from it. All the other times I have jsut got drunk. But it has always been a happy drunk. It feels very diffrent then drinking other drinks which is why I keep buying it.
