Default Miata - 0, Truck - 1

So the Miata got pwnt by truck in the shop parking lot today. The guy driving it didn't see the car behind him and rolled backwards into the car at less than 5mph. The overall damage sucks, but the guy is cool and insurance is covering the whole thing so it really isn't a big deal.

Oh yeah, the tuck took some damage too, he had to brush some of my green paint off of his steel bumper.

Same thing happened to me at a wal mart. Some jack *** teenager backed up into my girlfriends car, which I had just replaced all four struts on and was taking it out for a test ride. She was halfway across the country visiting her sister at the time.

The ******* drove off right after he backed into the car, luckily I got the plates before he got away.

I'm 100% sure it was a boy driving. once the cops caught up with them, a girl who I assume was covering up for her boyfriend that had a warrant out took the fall.

Sucks man, sorry to hear. I got backed into back in Georgia by a gov't car, they left a note though. Here's what a $1900 estimate looked like:

Honestly, it was an accident. The guy that hit it wasn't being careless, he just didn't see the car.

I cannot stand careless people, but the person that hit it is a good guy and is going to take care of everything.

People try to merge on me at least three times a week. It gets old.

Guys, we drive tiny vehicles. People don't see our cars in parking lots and even in the streets.

I think I am going this route:

That sucks. Other than the windshield that's about the worst spot you would want to be hit in that situation. I'd be worried about it being totaled also.

Finish panel, taillight, bumper, bumper cover, and fix the quarter panel. I had them make the estimate using prices for all-new parts, obviously.

It totally looks like your car is frowning in the hit pic!

i would be really upset if I had to scrap my car's body and start over...but then I could paint it UPS brown and be happy when it was over.

Yup, got it three years ago. Stole it fair and square from Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Between myself and my roommate we have 12 banners in the garage (funny, said roommate was with me when we stole it), so it isn't like that is the only one. About the only other one I need is the blue racing Mazda flag.

Yeah, you have no idea. The body was perfect on this car, and I have no idea what I would do if they total it. My first reaction would be to buy it back, but I don't know what I could purchase that would be as fun as this car was. I guess I would buy an NA, and build the motor out of the totaled NB and swap parts over/part it out.

Really I have no idea what I would get, as there is nothing in this price range I would want.

Also, after looking at it more I realized the finish panels inside the trunk don't fit any more.
