Here are some pics I took tonight. Not happy with them.... so they're NOT going in the submission thread. Will take more tomorrow...I rushed myself too much tonight.

mike they have good color and dramatic lighting (if a little underexposed, sacrificing some contrast). you just need to balance your composition and draw the eye into the photo. rule of thirds / golden ratio is always worth a five minute crop job.

I saw a good tip about viewing the images at thumbnail scale and evaluating the composition without respect to details that way.

Hmm, they look tilt-shift. Particularly the one by the tracks.

Matt- thanks for the perspective
I didn't crop the head-on picture because I didn't think one part or another of the BG was worthy of doing do...between the pole on the left side and the trees on the right. Maybe if they had been further off to the side I would have made more of a point. That's my reasoning..and because they're "OK" pics at best per lighting. But the crop you posted does look pretty good.

FF- Cool that it comes across as that to you. But it's just a little added blue to detract focus from the FG/BG.

I wish I was able to get the WB right on the head-on picture and get it a bit brighter. I'll play with the org. a bit more in GIMP and see what I can do on a good screen here at work. I really like how the sky came out in that pic.

Edited both pics......

Chill bro.. I had to get some stuff straightened out with a mod. People don't like to follow direction. I have class quick than I will create a thread.

Edit: Still awaiting for it to be straightened out

Anyone have any idea how I can run this voting? Since everything didn't work out according to plan... (people posted multiple photos)

**** voting. Put all the photos in it, more people will buy it if their car is in it. And seeing my car in a calendar would make me happy.

Edit: My dad gets a old british car calendar every year from my grandad, they have 4 photos in each month. It looks good too. If this a true mt.net calendar, it should represent the majority of the board users.

Double Edit: Each car could get 2-3 lines to explain mods, year, etc.

Nothing is going to justify those numbers.

Any sane person could clearly see that I have the best looking Miatas so why even vote. Just put pics of mine on every month and be done with it. Sales in the millions I tell ya!

How's about telling people to send you a PM with their 3 fav pictures. They cannot vote on their own pics though. Pick the top 12 according to the votes and go with that. Then ask the "winners" to submit the best quality picture they have.

I'd love to but I already have a system worked out and it would be greatly appreciated if you would delete all but one of your photos so we can get the voting on the road.

I like the idea of more cars. I would also suggest that since this is a miataturbo.net calender, then only the cars of current subscribers should be allowed into it. Not only will this minimize the number of cars to pick from (thereby making it easier), but it might also encourage people to subscribe.

Ummm...take all pics submitted and put them into one new thread, give them all numbers and have people post to vote. Obviously a poll would work better or even if you could post pics in a gallery and vote on them (CR has this feature).

I will be making the voting thread after class today... The voting thread is a little delayed but still will provide with plenty enough time to vote. This should be a little more fluent next month.
