Miata vs. Avalanche
Well to continue with the general trend of **** hitting my car, I was rear ended by a Chevy Avalanche. So that makes it the 5th car to hit my Miata, and the 3rd object in a few months to do some damage. What the hell?!
It happened in Detroit, and wouldn't you know, the lady didn't have a license or insurance. I managed to get $200 out of her father (LONG story, not sure if anyone here wants to read it all, but if so I will post it) , so it wasn't a total loss.
I was just sitting at the light and BAM. She said she "had ta git somefin out her visor, and she dihint see ma cur". I called the Detroit police, 5 hours! for a cop to come out. Thankfully no one was hurt, and it looks like most of the scuffs will come out. This shouldn't cost more than $200 to fix I hope...
This is where the LF tow hook of the truck hit the bumper
Here is the whole general area. A bunch of scuffs from the bumper of the truck CLIMBING on my bumper.
You can hardly see it from 10'.
Note: Those dirt spots are from slapping my drivers floor mat on the driveway. I had no idea it was that filthy! It sure looks like new now.

They said I would have to go to the police station in one of the worst neighborhoods to fill out a report. It's so scary down there that a man was shot and killed in front of the police station! He was trying to car jack a guy who was packing heat. I decided to take the $200 and run.
*Knock on wood*

Here's what I would have done when she said She had no liscense or insurance. Apply the old saying 'An eye for an eye'. Well, sounds like you did ok but I agree she should have got tickets for no insurance and no DL. I would have told her cough up another 200 for that or you would file a report.

Nope, she got away scot free. The problem is the Detroit police wouldn't come out. They said 5 hours, but if I had waited, they wouldn't have shown up. It's a huge problem here.

Yeah, it's not the best pair of colors. Can't beat a $700 hardtop though!
Hell yes! Anyone heard of 8 mile? Eminem can say whatever he wants to about it, it's a **** HOLE. Keep going down past 7 and it just gets worse.
Thankfully I live in a nice area, near 10 & Woodward. Woodward dream cruise FTW!

You've never spent anytime in Detroit have you?

Wait a second... you drive a Smurf Blue Miata and sport a Ronald McDonald Red hardtop and are miffed about a bumper scuff?
I'd be pissed too about the no-license no-insurance thing but you should use this as an excuse to sand the front and rear bumpers down to bare black and have them clear-coated... BAD ***!!!

They were actually stock. The truck was in pretty rough shape, so she was probably saving up for rims instead of the regular maintenance. My boss has 24" wheels on his 300C, and he has those dumb half numbers on the side. He also has this weird sticker film that turns from purple to dark green on the spokes of his wheels. His car is that mint green and the film looks HORRIBLE....
