Miatae and 240's
How many people here also own a 240sx? I know that I do and I've seen a few peoples' others, but when i ran across this excerpt I just had to ask.
"We also added new sections for the Mazda Miata and the 240sx...

I use to have a 300 zx turbo before Katrina (what a b-i-t-c-h) flooded it, along with every other thing I had ever owned in my life. I knew I either wanted a 240sx or a miata. I looked for 13 months before I found the miata I have now, that I bought for 5700.00 dollars 14 months ago with 111,000. miles on it. When I went to look at it, they had a 94 or 95 red 240 with a rb 25 I think. Not sure on the specifics of the swap but it was a straight six cylinder. The guy wanted 5K for it. I was there to look at the miata but that car did look cool. He also had a 88 corvette he said he would sell for 6K. Also had a 300zx twin turbo, a supercharged mercedes, another vette, and a race boat. I ended up with the miata, although I was seriously considering the 240. The thing that turned me away was I didn't know anything about the motor that was in it or who did the work. I needed something reliable and I figured I would rather build a car up myself than buy one allready built.

I have a WRX and a Miata, had the WRX first with my 92 Civic, then I was shopping for a fun project car because Civics while dependable are played out. I was shopping for a Datsun 510 but had ZERO luck finding an example that wasn't covered in cancer so I decided to go the Miata route. If my wife would let me get another car I would probably try to find an S13 240.

i've got both. the nissan is a car i had been looking for a specific one for years. I wanted a s13 ka24de white coupe manual trans, no rust and cheap. took years of waiting for the right one. i ended up driving down to virginia to get it. 1500 cash and drove it home. right now the interior is mostly back together. I completely gutted the interior and vinyl dyed and painted everything black. this week i'll be getting my seats, then i have to fab bracket and put them back in. I'm getting a welder very soon and will probably try my hand at fabbing up a turbo kit to hold me off for a while. When i finally buy a house and have some extra cash i'll be dropping and ls1 in it.

i had one for about a year and a half...spent almost 9 months of that year and a half trying to sell it, i HATED the car and nobody wanted to but it from me..i had my asking price down to 500 at one point (92 dual cam s13 with just over 100K..perfect red body, 5 spd, etc...) and it was bone stock...possibly one reason i hated the car.

when I was looking for car options (cause finding a decent FD is a pain in the ***) I was in serious consideration of a S14. But god damn they ask way to much for what they are. like 8k or more for a nice 5spd. Then Id have to pay out the ear to get it in any fun quality. So I went for a miata......and Im very pleased I did.

i had my miata, then got hit by a SUV and sold it to my cousin, got an s13 fastback SOHC with the 8.9:1 ( i believe) pistons because it was an early model for about 2200 with 113000 miles...... then got back the miata fo cheap with most everything fixed, but now the seats are out of the miata because i'm carving the foam and getting out a stain that always stains my clothes.
But the only thing my 240sx has done to it is a chopped up airbox (beefy sounding) and a Nismo shift ****
i do have plans to turbo the 240sx, but not for drifting purposes

Urine stain?
A guy around here has a 350 in an s13, never seen it on the road, but did see it at about 75% completion. And a guy that used to work with me began a project to stuff the V8 from a Titan into his s14, he was fired and I never heard any more about it.
If I put an LS1 in anything it would be the miata, or an FD

I have a friend with an rb20 swapped 240sx with a rb25 turbo. It's one of the coolest sounding engines I've ever heard (has an 8300rpm redline). The engine itself can handle quite a bit of power stock (350-400hp). He's constantly working on it, though. You definitely made the right choice as far as reliability. It seems like a lot of people get 75% done with the swap and then sell it (not saying they can't be reliable, just seems takes a lot of time/money). Not a good choice for an only car. I'll definitely be looking for an rb powered car as soon as I'm done with school, though.
