Might buy a 4x4... Need Advice
I used to have a Tracker...pulled an empty school bus out of the mud with that thing. Great snow car; it handled deep snow like it was a mountain goat (as long as you had the 4wd on).
buying a 4x4 is just like buying a regular car, but more to check out. What do you want a 4x4 for? off roading? better traction in inclimat weather? i ended up with a Dodge Ram quad cab because i needed to haul things from time to time, in addition to my trailer. And the back door help loading my personal gear.
oh, and it can climb 30" tree stumps. stock

Uh, I have an 86 trooper with 226,000 miles on it. I love the thing but it's got to be the most unreliable truck on earth. My drive shaft broke from a hard launch and the starter also died while is sat waiting for a driveshaft.
Oh, According to Kelly Blue Book, my truck has NO Value!

I don't consider what you've mentioned unreliable.... @226K miles every component of the drivetrain has likely exceeded it's design life and then some. driveshafts fail, so do starters.... they are wear parts just like brakes. They just need replacing at 150-200K mile intervals instead of 45K mile intervals.
