Default Moonshine was a bad (great) idea

So, besides the 90% alcohol, my night was full of questions.

My rings are gone, and after taking the head off I have determined that this motor has never seen serious detonation. Now the question is whether to take this motor back to stock, with new rings, or to slightly build it (only rods) and go from MS1 to MS2 with Abe's adapter board.

Keep in mind that I only have about $500 right now and will only get about $400 from the MS1.

And I have had 9 beers, and 3 shots of 90% moonshine...Discuss....

Aren't you parting out due to this?
So are you parting out and getting out of turbo or rebuilding and going back to turbo? I don't get it.

I'm basically in the same boat as you right now: I have a motor with a melted piston and can't decide on replacing with stock or building.

What are your goals and/or budget? If you're broke and don't plan on big power (>250) I have been advised to just stay with the stock **** since it should hold up. So that's my advice to you

The basis consensus is that you plan on building exactly once. So forged.
