For something a little different from the sci-fi, consider "In Bruges" if you like British crime flicks:

I just realized the previous movie I posted about was a Colin Farrell movie, also catagorized as a British crime flick.

I saw the latest hunger games tonight. Wife read the book and loved the movie. I thought it was decent.
Came home, drifted in and out of sleep while watching "cloud atlas". Should've just slept. I felt the movie was absolutely pointless. It was too Sci fi lets jump other planets in the future crap. Plus I'm tired of Tom hanks and Halle berry. Not nearly as tired of them as Nicholas cage, but mildly tired.

One that I always try to get people to watch, but they seem to never listen. One of the better movies I've seen in recent years. I've watched it 3 or 4 times I liked it so much. Action packed and fun while being sad and a bit fucked up at times. It's also pretty beautifully done, but the trailer does it no justice.

"The Man from Nowhere"

Read the book years ago and rereading it again. Pretty close and Card was one of the producers, so it stayed pretty close to book. obviously no book makes a perfect movie port, but out of the group that went I was the only one who had read it before and all loved it. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1385675788

An amusing but vapid road-trip comedy. Watched once, then immediately deleted.

My emotions right now range from "seriously annoyed with you for the recommendation" to "pissed off at myself, for allowing my time to be wasted by watching this self-indulgent noir flick as it bounced from one plot to the next, in the hope that there would eventually be some kind of payoff.."

WHAAAT!? Get the fuck out! Different strokes I guess. I thought it was brilliant.

Anchorman 2.

Don't see it unless your high, but don't smoke up until about an hour in.

You'll thank me later.

The new deniro, stallone movie is a real shocker. I got free passes for the early pre showings. Go see and it make your own.

I think it's called grudge match

im assuming this is a Michael Bay movie?

looks absolutely awful and i'm sure it'll break blockbuster records...

Thread revival...

I just watched this and recommend it (don't watch the trailer, it will screw the movie up for you).

I saw this a couple of weeks ago. It is a film you need to watch a second time to really understand it. I've only seen it once but wouldn't mind watching it again.

I liked the first half of The Place Beyond the Pines, but the second half didn't do it for me. I was pretty disappointed overall.

Michael Bay is producing, not directing.
I wish Michael Bay would just stay away from my childhood memories.

Could have fooled me. 5 seconds into that clip and I just knew it was a Michael Bay movie.

Had all the characteristics:

Shitty Acting
Shitty Actors
Spinning Cameras
Unbelievably stupid "action" sqeuence

fooger03 07-21-2014 08:46 AM

Watched "non-stop" over the weekend out of a redbox. Probably one of the top 2 airplane hijack movies I've seen.

if a kurt russell /steven seagal movie is #1, then I dont want to see #2.

also you forgot about air force one, it has harry in it, automatically #1.

Monk 07-21-2014 10:48 AM

Air Force One > Executive Decision. The best part of that movie was when Steven Segal falls out of the F-117.

Braineack 07-21-2014 10:50 AM

I need to see it again, i vaguely remember it.

i just recently watched No Way Out.
