Keep in mind that weight is at least as important as volume when loading trucks, if not more so.

Are you trying to tell me 400 square feet of gold bars is harder to transport then 400 square feet of pillows?

If Chiburbian-fiancee has 400 square feet of gold bars in a storage locker, then I recommend something other than U-haul for transport it, yes. For multiple reasons.
