:sadwavey: Sorry man!

Fireindc 01-14-2009 07:18 PM

Wow, that sucks. How did they break in? Did anyone shady know all the expensive goodies were in your apt?

Lame. Good luck getting your $$ back...

johndoe 01-14-2009 07:26 PM

Sucks man. I'd be wondering why you were targeted. Who knows what you have in there.

UrbanSoot 01-14-2009 07:55 PM

naarleven 01-14-2009 07:56 PM

Renter's insurance is ridiculously inexpensive.

If anyone reading this rents and doesn't have it yet- get it.

It's dirt cheap. I have it.

I do since I got robbed at my last house. I pay 12 dollars a month.

they made off with my imac, digital camera, 42" plasma, guitar, jug of money.

Looks like you got off pretty easy. Sucks though, get renter's insurance. There is no reason not to. Imagine if there was an apartment fire in your building, that just happened to my gf's mom.

miatamania 01-14-2009 10:49 PM

Sucks man.

Who can you get renters insurance through?

turbobluemiata 01-15-2009 12:05 AM

renters insurance is 9 dollars a month here for $20,000 protection

i always had it, it was like $10 a year. My house insurance (50K IIRC) is like $80 a year and removes close to $100 off my car insurance; Multi-policy discount.

What? I call BS. Renter's is normally ~$10/month, not $10/year. And your condo building must be insured by the HOA or something, and you must be paying only for contents insurance.

correct sir.

hustler 01-15-2009 09:36 AM

in for renter's insurance.

FHS 01-15-2009 09:45 AM

I can't even renew the lease in my building without renters insurance, even if I wanted to.

Damn Urban, you live closer to Hollywood or something? Between all the yapping rat dogs and hypersensitive neighbors, my GFs apartment in WeHo couldn't be safer. I've forgotten my keys in the door overnight and had them still stuck there the next afternioon.

levnubhin 01-15-2009 10:23 AM

Based on that list it looks like they knew what they were looking for. Sorry man, good luck.

i had renters and have homeowners now. so cheap.

i was robbed once in college over a holiday weekend. they took:

1 cordless telephone from bedroom A
1 1970s stereo receiver of no specific value from bedroom B
about 60 CDs from bedroom C
1 pillow case to hold aforementioned CDs

wtf.

however it does eliminate a lot of guilt I might have otherwise had about obtaining music from the internets.

Saml01 01-15-2009 11:30 AM

Too bad they didnt steal your Menorah.

UrbanSoot 01-15-2009 02:07 PM

FHS - I live in West Hollywood and have always considered it to be safest neighborhood around...
Saml01 - I'm not Jewish

Now I have 2 options...

1. Sell Miata and all the shit I have with it right now, pay off my 350Z, and start saving up for a house
2. Finish Miata (another $4-5k to go), drive it for couple of months, sell it then, and pay off my 350Z, and then start saving up for a house

What do you guys think I should do?

my brand new 5zigen 15x7 with 225/45/15 r888 are in the middle of my apartment and they only took a box from one of the wheels to put all the shit in... too heavy to carry out i guess?

chriscar 01-15-2009 02:17 PM

Same advice I gave you before you got robbed. Since you're planning on selling the Miata in a few months anyway, I don't see the logic in spending thousands more on it.

C

levnubhin 01-15-2009 03:01 PM

Id say drop the 350Z and daily the Miata.

deliverator 01-15-2009 03:34 PM

Dibs on the manifold and downpipe!

FHS 01-15-2009 04:48 PM

Sure Urban, WeHo, but closer to, like, LaBrea? Or, closer to San Vicente?

If you want to dump your PLX stuff, name your price. I picked up my DM-100 and SM-AFR from their promo sale. I've been wanting to pick up some more sensor modules but I've had to send my DM-100 and SM-AFR in twice now for service. Not sure if I want to pay full price for more stuff.

UrbanSoot 01-15-2009 09:54 PM

fountain / fairfax. looking for an apartment somewhere past la cienega right now

wayne_curr 01-15-2009 10:07 PM

Zarniwoop42 01-16-2009 06:33 AM

I am also interested in plx stuff. I just got the dm-100 and afr sensor. Interested in what you have if you want to sell it.

FHS 01-16-2009 08:28 AM

There's a one bedroom place on Westmount, like 400 meters from Urth. I looked at it last time it was vacant but decided to stay Downtown. I think they were asking $1100. No garage, but it has a big driveway.

UrbanSoot 01-16-2009 12:55 PM

^^ looking at that place later

decided to sell everything i have for miata! pm with requests. you guys know that i have just about everything on that car! im going to compile a spreadsheet with parts.
