Wow, that sucks. How did they break in? Did anyone shady know all the expensive goodies were in your apt?

Lame. Good luck getting your $$ back...

Sucks man. I'd be wondering why you were targeted. Who knows what you have in there.

Renter's insurance is ridiculously inexpensive.

If anyone reading this rents and doesn't have it yet- get it.

I do since I got robbed at my last house. I pay 12 dollars a month.

they made off with my imac, digital camera, 42" plasma, guitar, jug of money.

Looks like you got off pretty easy. Sucks though, get renter's insurance. There is no reason not to. Imagine if there was an apartment fire in your building, that just happened to my gf's mom.

i always had it, it was like $10 a year. My house insurance (50K IIRC) is like $80 a year and removes close to $100 off my car insurance; Multi-policy discount.

What? I call BS. Renter's is normally ~$10/month, not $10/year. And your condo building must be insured by the HOA or something, and you must be paying only for contents insurance.

I can't even renew the lease in my building without renters insurance, even if I wanted to.

Damn Urban, you live closer to Hollywood or something? Between all the yapping rat dogs and hypersensitive neighbors, my GFs apartment in WeHo couldn't be safer. I've forgotten my keys in the door overnight and had them still stuck there the next afternioon.

i had renters and have homeowners now. so cheap.

i was robbed once in college over a holiday weekend. they took:

1 cordless telephone from bedroom A
1 1970s stereo receiver of no specific value from bedroom B
about 60 CDs from bedroom C
1 pillow case to hold aforementioned CDs

wtf.

however it does eliminate a lot of guilt I might have otherwise had about obtaining music from the internets.
