Default my moms mercedes has more problems than my 16 boosted miata

my moms 3 year old Mercedes
has more problems than my 16 year old boosted Miata,
wtf?

i mean seriously, this thing always has problems,

wont start at least once every 6 months since she's owned it

battery has been replaced twice,
whole computer(ecu) has been replaced
tire randomly popped (front right)
door handle broke off
stability control unit went nuts once, car wouldn't start for a week
alarm started going off randomly for no reason,
and we were not able to turn it off
my dad had to pull the battery,
then tech came, put battery back in,
alarm started going off baffling the tech

she is now selling it with 50 thousand miles

discuss

Thats why when it came to buying a "premium" car I ended up with a Lexus. From 39k to when I sold it at 83k I changed one light bulb.

Lexus>****>Mercedes

Just kidding, Mercedes are nice but I've heard of people having stupid problems with them too. Lexus is quality.

what mercedes is it? and yeah they suck but when they're working nothing runs and drives like em, just don't own one out of warranty. btw i've worked for mercedes since 1997 minus 2 or 3 in between. I don't drive one even though i've had some really good opportunities for crazy lease prices. In july i'll finally be master certified and qualify for the master lease program where they'll pay half my lease on top of my employee discount and current incentives. i'll most likely have one then

toss the cigar lighter in the trash... 50% chance it is getting stuck in the charge position draining the battery. this happened on every mercedez we had at bosch at one time or another.

Current german cars have lots of reliability problems.

Mercs from 20 years ago are bulletproof though ...

I've owned my most recent MB for 8 years now. It was problem free for 5.5 years. The last 2.5 have been a real nut buster.
It's my 5th (I think) Benz product. The others were all great cars.

We have 2 mercedes and 2 BMW's. The newest BMW (06 5series wagon) has had the most problems.... Now I'm not saying it's a bad car, but all we have had to do with the mercedes' are new batteries for the 2003 and tires for both the 03 and the 06. Step dad seems to like to run over stuff in the 06 SL.... has punctured 3-4 tires already.

When I had my tire tech job I got to drive all manner of nice cars, including many Benzes. I absolutely hated all of them except one, the E55 AMG. As for the others, I have yet to drive anything that can match a Mercedes-Benz for vague steering, lazy throttle and touchy brakes.

of course AMG's are the most fun, e55 was badass the new e63 just a tad less angry being naturally aspirated. all the 65's are/were nuts with 700+ ft lbs of torque. the SLR was insane when i got to rag on it at pocono, even more so when the pro driver switched into the drivers seat to show me how it's done

hey what model benz is it? is it a 02ish c240? if so the seat modules for the front power seats pull excessive draw and causes the battery to die if its not started like every 2 days

Not just power-wise. The AMG didn't have the numbness of the others.

It's most likely a C320 or C350, google known issues...I think I remember seeing some forums about them. I know a guy who works for the Indonesian Embassy and his company car is a C320...Nice car...but always something wrong. Once he accidently knocked off the drivers rear veiw...cost $900 to replace (AT MY COST!!!)
