The car is so much fun to drive! Light mods coming in the future, but I want to keep the money flowing into the miata first.

FWD Supercharged and RWD turbo... both tiny

haha yes. Owning a miata and a mini does make people question my sexuality. And before that I had a 98 outback sport (dyke car X10000)

oh well, what can I say.

Too bad its the older poopercharged one, of course they have more aftermarket support than the turbos ones.
Any plans for added fastness?

How does it compare to the Miata for grin factor when driving?
I've heard some people say they are kind of dead feeling from a handling perspective.
I've always been interested in them.....

I havent gotten to take it on too many twisties. just went for a 10 minute test drive with my dad and I. I am picking it up wednesday so I plan on hitting some fun roads this weekend.

From the test drive I can say 3 things:
- Brakes are good
- Powersteering makes any car feel more numb than id like
- OEM runflats suck.

Whoever said a mini is "dead feeling" must have been making a joke
I drove an 08 Cooper-S and its steering feel made my old NB seem like a chrysler lebaron.
They have a very nice firm suspension, corner extremely flat, and the steering feedback is unreal.
The straight line performance leaves a lot to be desired, but w/e

I was actually surprised it did pull as much as it did...but its no where near "fast"

MINI "brisitch racing green" is all kinda wrong since it's metallic...more like Bavarian Racing Green

Too bad you have the shitty transmission and not the badass revised geared w/LSD on the '05+ cars. Might want to get an intake (ALTA is recommended) and don't waste your time on an intercooler upgrade and bend over if you want and exhaust...(Enthuza..our well known Miata guy, also makes them for MINIs). Wheels are 4x100....so there is no shortage of them out there and the 16" wheels on your S actually look pretty good on a Miata lol

Exhaust would most likely be custom. Intercooler is never getting changed, and yes I wish it had the newer trans, but hey its my daily and other than a few autox's i dont plan on beating the crap out of this car.

This was at the current owners house. He was a very wealthy man in fairfield county CT. That was an old british racing green Jag (not sure what kind) completely updated with modern goodies. Basically a full modern car on a classic body. He also had a modded ducati and lift in his other garage, and a few other goodies. One of his past toys was this:

Extremely nice guy, I couldn't have gotten more lucky. He had meticulous records of everything about his cars.

Nice car. My girlfriend is envious. She wanted a mini cooper S based on how it drove over a miata but I talked her out of it because I don't know **** about them. How heavy is the clutch compared to a stock miata clutch? The one we drove had a pretty heavy pedal and I guessed that it had been replaced with some aftermarket clutch.

It is heavier than the stock miata IMO, then again it has been a LONG time since i drove a stock miata. Luckily it doesnt have the typical numb spungy unpredictable BMW clutch. Its nice.

I'd rather have the supercharged one anyways tho, so you made the right choice there. Put a pully on it and listen to it whine!
