If a concert doesn't make you feel like you're on acid, then you're not partying.

I'm on this whole electro-pop / poptron kick now. Soulwax is wrecking right now. I think I just became an indie fag.

Lets ride our fixed gears over to the dance club in our cutoff jeans and tight, brightly colored shirts and vans.

I do the indie stuff, just not the electro hipster shit.

I just take acid at a concert.

As cool as it would be to have telekinesis, you know there'd be no way to keep your brain under control when a girl like this walks up with her top held together by one stressed out button.

NA6C-Guy 08-25-2009 05:51 PM

Gwwwaaaaaaaarrrrrr!

Braineack 08-25-2009 06:32 PM

this thread needs serious help....

whew, almost lost it....lets see: hard metal, hard metal opera, power metal, and progressive rock. Yep, that'll save it for a few more posts.

and the curve ball:

gospeed81 08-25-2009 06:44 PM

Can't you see I'm easily bothered by persistence?

Hell yeah!

naarleven 08-25-2009 06:51 PM

Pantera, After Forever, Dragonforce, and Dream Theater (especially DForce & DT) make me throw up a little bit in my mouth.

Braineack 08-25-2009 06:57 PM

beats "I failed out of college because I was an acid dropping ------ so I got a guitar by blowing my roommate and started playing rock"

UrbanSoot 08-25-2009 07:31 PM

thanks for pantera!

Instead its overly dramatic old men with long hair who were never hugged by their fathers. I'm not one for theatrics.

Oh, come on. I despise metal, but Through The Fire and Flames is actually a decent song. The guitar work in there is seriously impressive, unlike most (all?) metal.

Faeflora 08-26-2009 09:17 AM

fuck you all for starting my morning off badly. some borgir should clean this right up.

leatherface24 08-26-2009 10:05 AM

some youtube link posting FAIL cleared things up mmmmhmmm

Braineack 08-26-2009 10:09 AM

Alright, how about this one:

All cool things are in metrics, for example, here's just one: I got my 9; well that's 9mm, sounds cooler than my .2 something in inches gun.

Braineack 08-26-2009 10:18 AM

but really how can you not like this:

Use this song and an intense montage sequence and you'll have a hit movie.

leatherface24 08-26-2009 10:20 AM

Lets hope im full of win on posting this proper for once...

leatherface24 08-26-2009 10:21 AM

If you think you hate metal, but you know you love godlike guitar work, I give you Yngwie Malmsteen:

leatherface24 08-26-2009 11:05 AM

Indian Thriller....oh yeah baby

naarleven 08-26-2009 11:24 AM

Best thing Brain did was Bad Religon and Danzig. The rest, jesus.

I mean I respect metal musicians don't get me wrong. If Mozart was born today, he'd be in a metal band. But its just too damn dramatic. I've never been able to relate to dragons or wizards or horror movies, so I guess I'm shit out of luck.

This is more my style

I went to a Hall and Oates show the other week...

Braineack 08-26-2009 12:21 PM

Savington should like that I posted NOFX:

naarleven 08-26-2009 12:25 PM

NoFX was cool in/for middle school/middle schoolers.

Braineack 08-26-2009 12:26 PM

I don't like how they've evolved over the years. I still listen to them and all the other high school punk rock i used to.

cryogenic 08-26-2009 12:47 PM

This thread needs more Choppa.

I've seen a LOT of bands live, but the only thing that came close to "feel like you're on acid" was the Blue Man Group's show in Greenwich village. Very small venue, definitely not the happy-go-lucky PG-rated BMG you see on TV.

I figured it was fitting for this hipstered ass thread.

sixshooter 08-26-2009 01:46 PM

This sombitchin' song is stuck all up in my head.
I first heard it in the closing credits of a True Blood episode on HBO. Quirky and a very original style.

I'm on a death trip, baby.

(The first 28 seconds is some kind of vestigial lead-in)

UrbanSoot 08-26-2009 02:07 PM

fmowry 08-26-2009 03:15 PM

While I like Danzig - Mother and many of Braine's choices, here's a better Danzig vid:

naarleven,
Do you have to take depression medication every time you go to one of your crappy concerts?

Frank
