Default My new wheel and tire came in....

..so I put it on. I only ordered one to see how I liked it. This way if I didn't I only needed to ship 1 back instead of 4 ($$).

Kosei K1 15x7 with Hankook Ventus R-s2 225/45/15. Needless to say I like it. One thing I noticed was how heavy it is. I guess I'm just used to the puny stockers. My 1st gen FM springs and FCM mounts will be going in when they get here so it will sit alot nicer. The exhaust is my temp one, the duals will be going on once it runs.

Yes, I know it's on backwards. It was easier to get the jack on the right side.

When I was shopping for a setup the minimum width I would accept was 225. I would have gone wider, but looking at the strait sidewall I think this is a very good size match. I was thinking the stockers are alot lighter, but I can guarantee these will grip alot better. I'm actually really excited to find out how much better.

Me too, I had heard they discontinued them. Then I heard they still made a few sizes. Thankfully they still make small ones. Most companies are discontinuing anything less than a 16 or 17.

I got it from Tire Rack. I get them at cost, which unfourtunetly for me isn't much less than retail.

Yes it does. Thats my brothers car. It's an 88 N/A. He is putting in some AGX's and racing beat springs, so hopefully we will both be running faster at auto-x this year.

wow. that tire looks great on that rim... i might have to do that instead of the 15x8 6ul's... i figured the sidewall would be a lot more ballooned on a 7" wide rim with the 225's.

Man, K1 getting popular...

Looks terrific man, especially with that tire, makes me want to throw these 205-width Direzzas in the shed on my wheels (195s ATM).

That looks ****** good. Not just the wheels but with that car, that color, and those wheel(s), it would look awesome.

What's weird is I have 225-50-15 Yokohama ES 100's on a 6.5" wheel, only .5 narrower than yours, and my tires appear to be wider than yours. But you have a wider wheel and a more aggressive aspect ratio tire. My contact patch measures 8.5". Yours?

Wow, so no one has this setup yet? I figured it was really popular already. From what I have heard the R-s2 is a narrow 225, which is ok with me because it sits perfect on the K1.

Thanks. I have wanted wheels for a really long time, but I couldn't find anything I liked. I decided to go for best balance between size weight and cost, turns out they look really nice too.

Mine is 8.5" as well.

Hmm, hard to tell in that pic for no lighting, but are you measuring the actual part that touches the pavement? Pic's just dark so can't tell. FWIW, mine have a lot of sidewall hanging out so they look wider than they really are. 8.5" touches the pavement, but they look like they're 10 or 11" wide from a car behind me. Wish I had a good pic, wait, maybe....

I know the pic sucks, but I don't have any better lighting inside. The flash bounces off the ruler.

That is measuring edge to edge. If I had to guess what touches when sitting on the ground, maybe 7"? It's hard to say because I didn't move the car to let the wheel settle.

Sorry, I have no good pics at all. These wheels are in storage right now. :(

You can kinda see how they hang out over the wheel. Some people don't like it, but I love it. Love the look of having a lot of tire on the car. I'll get decent pics one day this summer when I reinstall these wheels and tires. (yes I know, those wheels suck)

Do you think that causes the tire to roll over on corners?

Now I have a set of 99 15x6.5"s I don't know what to do with. I wanted to run them because they look so good, but I was afraid of 6.5" rolling the sidewall on a 225.

If they are stock 99 five spokes, they are a 15x6, not 6.5. 225's are a squeeze on them.
