Epic post. Thanks for sharing, living the dream boys!!

Whose TR4 is that? I've got a GT6 and that TR4 looks familiar. Love the old British junk!

Just reread your post, love the GT6’s, got a Stag and a few parts cars at the Texas casa.
GT6 is my B GT, common mistake NP. TR4, no idea, but if I see him again, I’ll make a standing offer that’s high AF, I can afford to sleep on the couch for two months lol. Yup, love seeing the newbs breaking Porsche hearts in 2026. I gave some crotch rockets a run for there money in Salt Burn 3 days ago, wife got car sick 🤢, totally worth the *** chewing lol. Even a stock MGB can disappoint squids 😘 oh, and UK is dope, all the blokes are nice as ****, the women and the lorries can duck a Di$k… Like literally openly “racist”? To American men, no matter how many yes mam’s and tips? Also they are crazy about Trump here, everyone brings it up. I just say, I hate all of them, it’s the most unpolitical response I can think of and continue talking. Ugh, a Texan in Cowboy boots living in Europe…FML

I’m impressed that we’ve got some old British car fans here. My first car was a ‘61 TR3 - old, a decent body with a trash motor, but it was only $350. My older brother(had a Healey 3000!) and I found a donor wreck, rebuilt that motor and swapped it in - I learned more doing that than in all of high school.
Another thing that car taught me was about old British reliability, a lesson I forgot about 30 years later when I got a ‘60 Turner 950S. It had been an old VSCCA racer that was converted back to street legal. Sold it to a guy who turned it back into a race car - a Spridget motor but only about 1200#, faster than you’d think.
A friend had a Stag - it was fast, but the top and the engine/drivetrain leaked quite a bit. Pretty car.

Likewise, a couple of Bugeyes here.

First in my late teens-early trwnties

Dig those stringbacks with the cut off fingers - way cool!
Fast car, fast women, too good to last ...

Then some years later
He is 50 next month ...
He is 50 next month ...
The difference in the cars says it all - this one has bumpers, hubcaps, and a baby seat - complete with occupant!! Life moves on ...

I kept No2 for around 40 years, it needed a thorough restoration but had everything still - steel bonnet, tach drive, air cleaners, all the stuff we used to throw away. But the MX5 was a better, faster car and I couldn't do both. I shed a tear when that thing went down the road on a trailer.

Good times, lots of automotive learnings, and great memories!

I've had a couple of Austin Healey Sprites. Lots of fun if you stay off the big roads.

Looks like you guys are living the dream.
