$ony laptop eh?

my lenovo t61p does fine for work. i picked it up because it had a somewhat better video card than the Dell equivalent for about the same money. makes a little difference doing a lot of solid modeling in pro/e. It's a screamer with a 2.2 Ghz C2D and the nVidia quadro 570m 512mb.

but for you Mr Hustlington, get something under 15" that's super light. that's why I have the fuji at home.

my personal/work laptop is a decked out Asus U6S that for style and performance rocks the socks off of anything else out there. Asus laptops are some of, if not the best out there and come standard with a 3yr world wide warranty.

But I use a Vaio C series because I hate cults. It's pretty, fast, and so far for about 2 years, zero problems.
I'm not buying a ------ mac.

I've always liked my asus desktop hardware, but I've heard rumors, on the internets about notebook quality from them.

I want that widescreen though *****. I have a 24" and 21" monitor set-up at home, so when I'm stuck in the hotel I really like to have the bigger screen. Although I'd love to have something tiny for the car...maybe I'll also go to a pawn shop and pick up palm for megasquirting and logging.

Also, I can't spend more than $800...this is already precluding my nickel 6ul purchase.

edit:
oh **** it would be awesome to use the stylus when running megatune!!!!

Then it wouldn't be so hard to tune while I drive...lol.

I bought my acer in 2003. It was about a grand, had a badass video card(ATI x1600m), a gig of ram, DVD/CD writer, WLAN/Bluetooth, and dual core processor(t2300, 1.66ghz), and 120gb hd(pretty big for back then). Ive spilled juice on it, dropped it on the concrete, and left it on for months straight. It still holds a charge, boots up everytime, plays newer games flawlessly(wow, BF2, CS:S/HL2, Fear, Bioshock, COD3 etc.) Its still on the original OS install it came with, and is still virus free thanks to clamwin. This computer is rock ******* solid, i leave it on every night to DL torrents.

Ive since added another 512 of ram, and its scratched up on the outside, but for a 5 year old laptop it still kicks some ***. Havnt even thought about replacing it yet.

Acer FTW.

EDIT: OH, and Newegg dot com FTMFW.
