I think I figured out what you guys are asking for.
Board: Dell Inc. 0WG855 Serial Number: ..CN7082168E045P. Bus Clock: 1066 megahertz BIOS: Dell Inc. 2.4.2 03/30/2007 And its saying that it takes DDR2 memory. Is that the info I need? |
If I'm not mistaken by the above info I found, would it be correct to say that this GeForce 9500 GT 1GB DDR2 PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card that I found on amazon would do the job?

as long as you have an x16 slot, *most* low-power cards should work just fine.
Oh, yeah. I totally forgot about the power requirements. Now high-end video cards have separate power connectors on them, as they draw more juice than the slot can provide. There are at least three different standards for that- the ole' 4-pin Molex like 5.25" disk drives use, plus a newer 6 pin and 8 pin standard which requires a special power supply to drive. Ah, the good ol' days of 30-pin SIMMs and "turbo" buttons :) Ok, progress ain't all bad. |

And here's the service manual: http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...M_EN/index.htm You have one PCIe-x16 slot, which confirms to the 1.1a spec.

Here's the datasheet for that card: http://www.evga.com/products/pdf/01G-P3-N959.pdf It says, in part "PCI Express® 2.0 / 1.1 Support" and it is clearly a PCIe-x16 card, so it ought to work. It also does not appear to require external power and merely calls for a "Minimum of a 350 Watt power supply," so no worries there. |

I just signed up for Amazon Prime and this will be my first purchase with it. :) |

Win! That card supports HD video acceleration (new versions of Adobe Flash, Media Player Classic, etc), gives you what you want, and doesn't draw too much power. Newegg's price is a dollar or two less, but you'd probably get it faster w/ Prime. Let us know if you have any trouble throwing it in, but it should be pretty straightforward. The hardest part is finding the magic case release switch/button on some of those Dell boxes, but it sounds like you've already been inside.
I'll update this thread once its here, installed, and let you guys know what I think. I've been using the 2 monitors for the first time all afternoon working on my listings and it helps A TON! I'm seriously cutting my listing time in half. I'm excited to finally have a halfway decent setup that's eventually going to pay for itself. :) |
Great. Now if we can just get you to stop punching inanimate objects, we'll be in good shape. :D

Something tells me this time around I might have learned my lesson. This cast (4th cast) comes off Nov 1st when the last 2 pins come out (3rd surgery), then I don't know what the plan is. Still feels broken to me. :vash: This reminds me, I never did post up the most recent xrays on here to show you guys. These are the xrays after the middle finder pin was removed. I still have to get copies of the first ones that had all 3 pins in the fingers. Wolverine hand FTW!! lol |
