Default New job - New stereo

Now that I'm having to commute 1+ hour each way, I swapped out the factory Am/FM cassette (WTF?) on my beater - 02 Grand Marquis - with a AM/FM, CD/MP3 player.

Now I can listen to all those audio books I've always wanted to.

FWIW, I'm now working for a H U G E, mortgage company. I've been in the biz for 4 years and this is the best company I've ever worked for in any industry.

If anyone has any questions about buying a house or re-fi, LMK.

Getting back to my stereo, WTF kind of "luxury" car has a CASSETTE??? And this is a LS model with leather and ****.

I don't think the Grand Marquis target demographic skews toward people who own CD's, or iPods for that matter. Or it could be the classic big-3 cheapness.

BTW - check out "Red Star" by Martin Cruz Smith - sequel to "Gorky Park" that has a great audio version.

You may be right. But this is a 2002 model LS which is the higher end model. Oh well. One call to Crutchfield and now I'm all set.

As for audiobooks, I've never tried em. I've just been collecting them for the day I MAY want to listen to em.

The first one on my list is a lecture series on the history of the US and the Middle East from 1914 to 9/11.

I listened to the divinci code on audiobook. Great way to know what the **** people are talking about. I finished it in the 9 hour drive to florida for spring break one year. Great way to be in the know and not really waste any time doing so.

Acura NSX I think came with AM/FM Cassette with optional changer in the trunk for its entire life cycle.
