New MR2?
|
All new(er) Mr2s have been ugly.
However, I bet it'd look sweet in a hardtop. |
its still prettier than any of the scions. I personally think it was a bad idea to replace mr2's and celica's with scions :barf:
|
Looks like an AudiTT with a little Boxster thrown in for flavor.
|
looks like the sam damn thing the came out with that didn't sell and they stopped making.....now with a flared fenders :td:
|
Guys thats a test mule, those fender flares are just disguise. My money is on the fact that they are just testing a new platform not a car even close to production or concept yet.
|
I like how it says they are addressing the lack of space issue in the MR2. It would be nice if they would address some of the more pressing issues w/ the MR2.. like the fact that the headlights and taillights are so massive they occupy 90% of the body.

When they do mule testing they usually don't add massive body panels on both sides. |
the scions were not meant at all to replace the celica or the MR2...the scions are more of a marketing strategy than anything...obviously its working really well, even better than toyota had anticipated, tis working so well that within the next 10 years all toyotas are going to pure pricing
and anticipate the scion line up to grow to more cars, maybe even a 4 door Tc...btw, anyone seen the new Tc due soon? NOICE rice |
regarless of the body paneling it looks like the same car, which again didn't sell at all. at least its not as ugly as the solstice.
|
lolz, got that right...
i dont think thats even a recent photo, looks like development of previous MR2 |
possibly an eventual replacement for the current MR2, which will be discontinued in the crucial U.S. market next year. |

Regardless, this is an outdated article featuring outdated pictures of a test mule for a car that either never happened or hasn't made it out yet. |
OMG dude, I'm pretty sure I know both what the rwd v8 and fwd v6 were, and that's just funny.

Been around test mules recently? My dad is a chief engineer at a car company I won't name, to avoid accusations of bias, so we had quite a number of test mules at home when I was a kid. They most certainly do add massive body panels to give whatever's underneath a presentable skin. For example: my dad once brought home a V8-powered, rwd coupe under the elongated (by 6 inches ) skin of an existing V6 fwd coupe. Some very clever bodywork.

Different strokes for different folks, apparently. It's gorgeous in my eyes. Shame Franz left GM. Guess he couldn't handle the winters
anyone who's modeled a GM in the past 20 years should be shot twice. Expections; the corvette, Cadillac, & Saab. that's about it. |
ahh, I figured it was that one that was literally built around your ass :)
which would have been HILARIOUS dressed up as a FWD Yeah, and Americans just hate RWD V8 coupes :gay: |
