Just got a new tattoo

Design is based on the Pioneer Plaque. So super nerdy. But super tight. Symbol on wrist is hyperfine translation of hydrogen.

Then 8 planets of solar system, and the symbols bellow them are their measurements from the sun using the hydrogens spin-flip as a measurement.

 

Pretty cool. It's about time the nerd world and the tat world met. I take it you read a lot of xkcd too?

Btw - for the sake of all that's holy don't get the naked dude tattooed on yourself.

Never before but now I am a fan now that I looked it up. Its funny, but there is a whole genre of hot girls who find nerdiness attractive.

I've been damn near obsessed with Astronomy since I was 4 y/o. If I wasn't so terrible at math, I might have majored in it.

 

All I can say is...do something unique to your character. Something that you as an individual person can appreciate. Don't get a "trendy" tattoo like some tribal **** or a chinese symbol. This dude I know has a chinese letter on the side of his neck, I'm like "that's cool...I have never seem that before (sarcasm), what does that mean?" He's like "it means strength." It looks like a funny looking R C, so we call this dude RC Cola neck. I told him that there is a conspiracy where chinese letters don't mean what the tattoo artists think, and your RC Cola chinese symbol is a proverb for "I like ***** all over my face."
But hey if you're into hydrogen and the solar system, then that's cool in my book...

lol you could name the freckle at the far right of all the planets "the planet formerly known as pluto"

 

How great did Neptune feel? I just got my pit done and it was less than comfortable.

 

Neptune was a little bad, but its so tiny. It was the sun that was a problem. He was holding my wrist at a funny angle which popped that tendon up and kept coloring it and recoloring it. Became annoying after round 2-3.

Pluto was originally part of the whole sketch, I decided he was more of a protoplanet :-D

My plan is to accurately depict the kuiper belt somewhere else on my body :-P
