Forget masking your skills. if you have bad skills, they'll show up in your lap time more than anywhere else.
in reality, you'll have to re-learn how to drive on race tires anyway so why not start there?

at this point I need $2500 to buy a membership at the local track. I'm saving pennies now...but still lack the FM swap kit and machine work on the motor. I guess I should just go ahead and buy the swap kit.
God you suck at decision making.

Also, 250rwhp will be challenging on any tire. For my car (200rwhp), 225/45 RS2s vs. 225/45 NT01s, I was able to hook 3rd gear on the R-comps exiting any corner pretty much immediately. With the street tires, I could wag the *** pretty good in 3rd.
