Forget masking your skills. if you have bad skills, they'll show up in your lap time more than anywhere else.

in reality, you'll have to re-learn how to drive on race tires anyway so why not start there?

I'd put the 225/45 on the stock 15X6 wheels. Not ideal, but it'll work.

I bet you end up spending that money sometime in the near future anyway. It might be a year from now but I just about guarantee you upgrade.

at this point I need $2500 to buy a membership at the local track. I'm saving pennies now...but still lack the FM swap kit and machine work on the motor. I guess I should just go ahead and buy the swap kit.

Sounds like a plan. I would go small RA-1s and stocker wheels till I had the money for the track membership.

God you suck at decision making.

Also, 250rwhp will be challenging on any tire. For my car (200rwhp), 225/45 RS2s vs. 225/45 NT01s, I was able to hook 3rd gear on the R-comps exiting any corner pretty much immediately. With the street tires, I could wag the *** pretty good in 3rd.

I have all the parts now, I just need to go home and do it. I still have no clue when I'm going home either.
