Oh man. how to get this window up?

My driver window doesnt go up!
But it goes down, i can hear the motor when i push down on the button. It would take a few try to get it to go up, but now it wont do it at all. And I need to get it to go up for the track tommorrow, or they wont let me race. I took the switch thing apart on the arm rest, and it all looked clean, Is there anyway else i can bring that SOB up?

Take the door panel off and manually pull it up after assesing if you can do this by hand with or without removing the regulator/motor.
Having all kinds of tough times lately eh?

Slidin'Miata916 08-08-2007 03:44 AM

Oh man. Since I had the car. Thats why Im gonna sell it.
Is it hard stuff or easy stuff? If its easy stuff ill go out there now and tear it apart, if its hard stuff, ill wait til tomorrrow.
Do I have to take EVERYTHING off the door?

cjernigan 08-08-2007 04:03 AM

My NB door takes me about 3 minutes to take off. Something like 5 grommets (some are missing) and 3 screws. Pops right off. The NAs have to be easier than that.

Slidin'Miata916 08-08-2007 04:04 AM

lol ill check i tout now

cjernigan 08-08-2007 04:05 AM

Don't you sleep? I'm in Alaska, that's my excuse.

sucks, i cant get my boost control working ... and I really dont want to spin my whole way through the 60ft lol. 8psi is enough for first gear, and 12 will be murder with all the camber im running. Regardless, I will be there tomorrow to run my car so see ya tomorrow.

kotomile 08-08-2007 04:26 AM

Do like I did, take the door off and make two sections out of it by separating the "top" rounded portion from the flat bottom inner skin. Use velcro to hold the skin in place and just set the top into position and let gravity hold it there. I can get my door's inside off in less than 20 seconds...

..and yes, I want a cookie.

I cant go if i dont get this sorted sadly lol I have a mbc if you want to use it. just let me know, celly is back on too.

Ok, so i tried putting power to the motor, and nothing happend at all, i tired both wires too and nothing. i know the motor is good becuaase even tho is all the way down it still try to go down when you push down on the switch. any other ideas or input would be great

messiahx 08-08-2007 01:49 PM

Doesn't the window move down using gravity? So if you pull the motor (or just loosen it a bit) and then slide the window up and put the motor back in place, that should work well enough for a track day, right? Just put some tape over the switch so you don't press it by accident.

Slidin'Miata916 08-08-2007 03:18 PM

Its an electric window. Does that still apply? Doesnt sound right.

cjernigan 08-08-2007 03:30 PM

Pull the regulator out so you can move the window up by hand. Then reinstall the regulator to hold it in place. It's just an electric motor man.

Braineack 08-08-2007 03:37 PM

clean the connectors on the switch....or put a +12v source directly on the motor leads.

I tried that.
And it didnt do anything
I dunno why. Im sure sure i did the right connector. The motor is bolted on with three bolts on the door right? like, to the top left of the speaker.

Braineack 08-08-2007 04:28 PM

Slidin'Miata916 08-08-2007 04:40 PM
