I indulged in a piece of 85% cocoa chocolate last night. No need to load up on grains and processed sugars this morning.

Oh, and I went from 164 lbs on February 1st to 150 lbs on April 1st. No portion control, sporadic exercise.

I'm always between sizes. I have to use a leather punch on my belts.

I indulged in a pitcher of home made "skinnier" mojitos on Sunday.

Did you just go "full paleo" or "primal" or something?

Primal Blueprint, or something close to it (we're not following any one plan 100%, but essentially, yes, an "ancestral health" plan).

That's only 14 lbs in 2 months, or just under 2 lbs a week.

tapeworms are paleo...

sadly unlike scott I'm only down 5 lbs since Jan 2 but I swear I can see two abs.

even more sadly, all the pants I bought in December that fit me fine are now too big. two+ years ago I was looking at 35" waists. I had settled into a 34" and those started getting loose so I got some new jeanses in 32" and I'll be damned if they are all sliding off my ass.

HOWEVER in my infinite wisdom I had previously purchased a Bison Designs T-lock belt. I have been using it constantly for the last 5-8 years or some random number. Same belt. No mods.

near-infinite adjustability and doesn't set off metal detectors so i don't have to de-pant myself at the airport. Lots of pretty colors.

That would be cool for my weekend clothes, but not classy enough for the office. :) If you find one made in leather, let me know.

I'm about halfway to the original weight goal, not seeing much movement in the body fat percentage guesstimation via calipers (~13.7%). I'd say I'm also about halfway back to the six-pack (it's almost there in the right lighting, if I'm flexing and you squint :giggle:).

We're doing Insanity and we picked up some Shakeology to use as a snack/occasional meal replacement. The strawberry flavor really is genuinely good, especially as a base for a shake/smoothie.

Bonus for those with no tolerance for lactose's shenanigans: it's vegan but still has 15g of protein. For a meal replacement (like breakfast or late dinner), I can add soy yogurt and soy/rice/almond milk for about 25g of protein. It's not cheap, but it tastes good and seems to be made with great stuff.

Aaand, after being named "King of Mint Juleps" at the Derby party last night, still got up and worked out.

Nice job! Today's my rest day but I'm feeling pretty good so I might do a short workout tonight, if I still feel okay after mowing the lawn.

Yesterday was 2 hours of angleball (brutally hot outside) and then 12 minutes of 2 handed kettlebell swings.

I will never be able to get back to the condition I was in when I was fighting due to time constraints (cooked almost every meal myself and probably put in an easy 10 hours a week of training). Considering I had an 8-pack back then, I figure I only need to lose about 15 pounds to reach my goal. ;)

We finished the ~60 days of Insanity and I went from 165 lbs to 153 lbs. Fitness level went way up and the abs are currently in a state of debate. I say "technically there," she says "not quite" or "I didn't think you were counting the top two."

I went jogging for the first time in years (I hate running/jogging). I did two miles in about 26 minutes using a slow pace. I was breathing through my nose the entire time so obviously left some time on the table.

I may have to pull out some tricks this week because I plan on eating a bunch of fried chicken and some beignets this weekend.

Down from a high of 167 lbs to 148 GAAAAHAHAHAHAHA a spider just dropped down about 6 inches in front of my face while I was typing. Spider relocated succesfully.

Anyway, down to 148 lbs and about 11-12% body fat. Going to run a 5k on Saturday morning, so I'm going to a high intensity cardio workout tonight, a heavy lift day tomorrow, a light lift/stretch/roller day on Wednesday, then only resting, stretching, and foam rolling on Thursday and Friday.

I ran a 28:40 (slow, I know) at 160ish lbs in December, so my goal is get under 25 minutes now...and I haven't been doing any running at all other than field sports. We'll see.

Braineack 06-25-2012 02:00 PM

im stalled at 170. i havent done jack to help it along...surprised I havent gained. oh well. still beats 215.

I 5-repped 175lb on power-cleans last Saturday, this is now warm-up weight. What is my prize?

Braineack 06-25-2012 02:07 PM

i mean, my weight is 170. but yeah im at 170 deadlifts too. however, i could not do a clean that heavy, i probably couldn't even do them at 95lbs.

Power cleans or "clean and press" make for strong masculinity.

Nice progress, Mark. My calipers and/or pinching technique are apparently not precise enough to notice a difference, even though it's visible. Still pinching about 10-11mm which my calipers call "13.7%" body fat.

You ran a 5 km or ~3.1 mile distance in 28 minutes and 40 seconds? In other words, about 9 minutes per mile? I have no idea what a reasonable goal is for me, especially since my running is going to be after swimming and bike riding.

Brain: progression > lack of regression > regression so you've got that going for you! :) If you are comfortable with where you are, that might be enough.

Hustler: I don't think I have used a free weight or machine in about 5 years, including when I was training for fights. I would like to incorporate more strength training now but it's a real struggle to make enough time to work out in my living room with no equipment. It is not uncommon for me to be gone 12 hours between leaving for and arriving from work. Adding drive time to and from a gym - and the fact that I hate lifting weights - is not really helping add enough inertia to get me there.

I'm going to look for some more places/ways to get creative with body weight routines. I will check out your links later and may pick up the Rebel Guides from Nerd Fitness as they seem to fit in there.
