It figures...
The newly-rebooted Star Trek franchise was actually doing pretty well. I just recently watched Into Darkness, and found myself really getting into it.
Now Chekov is dead. Was it Romulans? Klingons? Nope, he was run over by a Jeep. His own Jeep, to be precise. Because of a shitty transmission design.
**** you, Jeep. This is why we can't have nice things.
Did Jeep's Recalled Gear Shifter Contribute To The Death Of Star Trek Actor Anton Yelchin? (Updating)

It was on a recall list but owners hadnt been notified yet, and it happened in california. I smell an incoming wrongful death lawsuit that could realistically go against chrysler. I wonder if the studio will also sue for lost potential revenue from any films he was on contract for.
On another note, why the **** is a rich person driving a ******* jeep?

I posted an obscenity-free version of this rant on Jeep's official FB page. It's been over an hour, and it's still not been deleted yet.
