Pain and suffering and other insurance questions...
I was rear ended about a month ago and it will soon be time to reach a settlement. Anyone have any good tips on how to handle all this stuff. I have been through it twice before but both times I just signed on the dotted line when the insurance company handed me the papers. I've had about $6K in medical bills and $9K in truck repairs (which they screwed up - my truck looks like crap).

Robert,
If you don't want to *actually* go through the suffering and therapy or go through the suffering of dealing with a lawyer, you can probably make a little headway dealing with the adjuster directly. The adjuster has a limit of $$$ (probably 500-1000) that they can award without going through their boss. More than that and they have to justify the award to the higher-ups. If that's enough to make you feel better, talk to the adjuster, ask their limit, and say "sold!"

The adjuster was awesome, you just need to see how far they can go before they have to talk to someone higher up. Unfortunatly it sounds like you need / want more than 500-1000 extra

I got 3-4 times book value for my last totalled Miata and then got to keep it and part the thing out. The car really was nice (no nicer Miata out there) but I still made out like a bandit on that one!
