A few weeks ago, I stumbled across an 8" Mirage sub for $40 that is perfect for filling out the bass for my Panny 50" plasma. It fits nicely behind my corner TV stand (very stealth). I was looking for some Mirage Nanosats to run a little 2.1 system but they're expensive even used.
But I was on eBay and came across a used Energy TAKE5 system. The TAKE5 is kind of a reference point for small sub-sat systems. I did my homework years back and almost bought one until the Good Guys went out of business and I score huge on some Klipsch stuff. The Klipsch stuff I just sold because it's too big for this house.
This auction was for San Diego pickup only and the starting bid-point was $100 and I won (this system was $500+ new). So I'm going to compare the sub to the Mirage one to decide which to keep... and since the speaks are so small, I'll run a 3.1 system and skip the rears. I just need to score a cheap HDMI receiver now.

I've got all Energy Connoisseur Series and a Velodyne sub in my 7.1 setup. Engineered in Canada, all great speakers are designed in Canada you know
I'm sure you'll be happy, sounds like you got a killer deal.
