Default Porsche guys now running 9.79 @ 146.4 with just bolt on kits ... wow

Looks like those 911 turbos have quite overengineered engines. With just just bolt on kit on a stock engine those guys now do 9.79 @ 146.4 - and that's a car on his street tires not even prepared for drag racing ...

Mercedes, Porsche, Ferrari Tuning, Performance Upgrades

Looks like $12k for 700hp. If that's a no-******* 700AWHP, then I'm impressed. The new 997's roll 400awhp stock.

you know though...I love porsches, but I'm not sure if all you want to do is go fast at the track that it would really be worth the extra cash to have one over a supra??? They'd both be very nice cars, and you could build a nice supra for less than half of the porsche, not to mention the supra guys seem to get decent money for their cars when they're done....(not that the porsches don't, but it seems like you could end up wayyyyy backwards in a nice porsche). The european cars just seem horrible whenever it comes to resale. I've got an E55 right now I'm trying to sell that I picked up used a while back. It WAS an 75-80ish k car whenever it was new, now I'm hard pressed to get 17k out of it. Kinda sad, because it's a lot of car for 17k.

R888s aren't exactly street tires, but that's still ******* impressive.

Yeah, I know but those are not drag radials either. The entire car is not a drag car. Looks like they just did a quick test at the strip - just drove it off the street and didn't even check the tire pressures ...

Looks like they can double their horsepower with bolt ons just like Miatas double hp with just F/I bolt ons without having to up the internals

while its impressive and fast as ****, I would be pretty pissed of if my car didnt run that after I dumped 150+k for it and then another 15+ on mods. sure basic boltons, but look at the prices

Its all relative.

At the end of they day you are driving a miata and he is driving a porsche.

Also, after you put 150k in to a miata it wont be daily driven anymore, while the porsche will.

That's crazy. Apparently Porsche knows how to make an AWD tranny that doesn't grenade on launch.

Even more amazing is that forum...damn near all of the posters from that thread had insane 800hp+ cars.

$15k on a $150k car? Not bad if you ask me. Tell me, how fast can you make a Miata for 10% of it's original cost AND using quality parts?

Side note- I see a lot of older super fast Porche's that are NOT daily driven. They aren't reliable by any means. Everything on the car has to be replaced every 30K no matter what. And I mean stupid **** like suspension system parts, wheel bearings, steering parts, clutch, calipers, belts, etc. Engines are tough as ***** though. Maybe the newer ones are hugely improved though.

If you can dump 150k...and then 15k...you can afford to fix that ****.

If your happy to hand over 150K initially 15k is peanuts for the extra power.
Until its peanuts il still be driving a miata lol.

dont get me wrong: I absolutely love em and think thats badass....and yes, at the end of the day he's driving a porsche....what I was trying to say is that its not very surprising to see that car run that after all that money was spent, whether on the car or on the mods. for over 100k, Id expect nothing less but im a cheap bastard
