@Z31maniac How do you like the Boxer Engine ?
Does it really feel that slow (stock) ,like many People say ?
I really like the brz/gt86 :)

I daily a fr-s on the side (GF's vehicle). It's not 'fast', but its quick. If you're shifting above 4-5K you'll get to your desired speed in no time ;)

The 4k tq dip is my only complaint. 6-speed is amazeballs :bigtu:

It's quick enough around town. But you've really got to keep the revs up to get it moving, and then it's quite fun. The gears are nice tight, so once you get it wound up it stays there.

Mine has an MXP cat-back, Ground Control coilovers, 18x9.5 RPF1s with 255/35 DZII and I'm running the Open Flash Tablet with an E85 tune.

The only other things I want to do are an intake, header, oil cooler.

E85 + UEL basically eliminates it. And adds about 30whp up top.

Sounds nice for a DD :)
E85 is always fucking awasome ,if you have Gas Stations in your Neighborhood wich offer it....

"E85 + UEL basically eliminates it. And adds about 30whp up top"
Nice Numbers for a 2.0l (200 stock hp) N/A Boxer Engine

In Germany there aren't that many e85 Stations at the Moment ,mostly only in bigger Citys but i hope that change in the next Years ;)
The nearest Station for me is 20min away but i will get a tank at home for the Miata

240_to_miata 03-26-2015 05:36 PM

I wish I had E85 to throw in the Burzzz. I love my BRZ but it is a bit slow for DD duty. Hit a nice windy road and keep the rev's up and it's GREAT.

besides keeping miles off of the subi as i have a 65 miles round trip each day, the primary reason for the SS is:

i also have an 86 s10 v8 swap project, and of course the miata, but those arnt dailies.

i was honestly wondering if he was asking that or what exactly an S10 SS is or why i have one. i went with the latter.

aidandj 03-26-2015 08:57 PM

I still don't know

turbofan 03-26-2015 09:34 PM

I'm asking why in the world that's called an SS. I did like your answer for the other potential question, though.

Just bought this one a few weeks ago. My beater 99 miata wasn't cutting it any more and I wanted something faster. This car used to be a local guy's daily driver/track car and already has KW V3s, OS Giken diff, Weds wheels, and a bunch of cooling mods. And 260-270hp. It has a super stiff exedy race clutch in it that was making it really hard to sell, so I got a smoking deal on the car. The Greddy fart can is annoying to look at, but jesus it sounds amazing. This car couldn't replace my gutted and caged miata for track use, but it's a really fun and comfy daily driver so far.

because it has a badge, duh
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1427420456

and because chevy knew it would make people feel special and buy more s10s.

"The 2nd generation S10 was introduced in 1994. Along with that came the all new Chevy SS S10(RPO – B4U). About 2756 (est.) SS's were made a year. They were each equipped with the 4.3L V6 producing 185 hp and on up to 200 hp Stock! and were all 4L60 automatic transmissions. The SS was introduced with only three colors: Onyx Black, Summit White, Apple Red.

In 1994 and 1995, the SS came with 15" cast aluminum wheels, and chrome center caps and red bowties. SS badging and fog lamps were standard equipment as well. The rear-end was a 3.42 limited slip gear."

also, "bucket" seats

turbofan 03-26-2015 10:19 PM

Wow. over the years they've really bastardized that badge.

lol

I do like those little pickups though. We had a '99 S10 with that V6 and it was a great little truck.

Real.
'06 IS350s run 12-15,000 here in decent condition.
Personally I think they're a fucking bargain right now. 305hp, mid 20's mpg, unbreakable drivetrain, mildly luxurious...all for less than a new civic.

Actually i want to build this one ,but then i got the white Miata cheap (hated the red Color anyway ;) )

The red one has low miles and zero rust so it will achieve a good price and that means more performance parts for the White Turbo :fawk:
