318 would be a great place to start, 325 would be even better. I've found online several people on stock 2.5s in the E30s slap on a megasquirt to get rid of the junk problematic Motronic and slap on T3 turbos.. Several people on stock longblocks cranking out like 300rwhp without problem!

I have owned 4 Fox body mustangs. I was a mustang fanatic. Besides Ls1 cars, they ar the cheapest way to go fast in my opinion. You can drop $1000 in them in used parts and spank vetts red light to red light all day long. Your screwed after the red light. Lol. But you get my point....
But unless you rip everything out and start new on the suspension to make a rail car. They are the biggest turd in the world in a curve. But they are awesome in the straight away!!! They are heavy in the front and if there is a drop of water in a curve it is a garrented spin out.
You can make a 1 ton truck able to dirt track with enough money.
