Here they dont even ask any more, they just take the KBB valuee and tax you on that.

Braineack 04-23-2019 03:30 PM

rich tax. correct. they also do it annually, cause the value of my car means i get to pay extra for special privileges on the road... asshole tax.

I've always thought it was a sham to pay sales tax on a vehicle every time it is resold. If you paid $60,000 for it when it was new and was taxed on $60,000, then if it is sold as a used car for $30,000 then that value has already been collected and yet the state collects it again. Then again at each subsequent sale.

Peterson 5400 horizontal grinder unrelated.

That's crazy talk. Like saying that you shouldn't be taxed every year for the house you bought with money that you'd already paid income tax on, and then taxed again if you sell the house, and then taxed again when you spend the money you got from the house on other things.

I mean, without taxes, who would pay the tax collectors?

I discover new things every day. This panel, for instance, is in the hallway just outside my main equipment room, and is labeled "EMERGENCY CIRCUITS."

In rather more casual print, it's also labeled "DON'T BELIEVE THIS INDEX. 50% IS WRONG."

That's comforting to know on an emergency circuits panel.

50/50 is not bad, assuming you know which are which. Surely the guy that did that research made the data available..... RIGHT.

That would be a no.

I found one that's even worse, though.

After the -22° night earlier this year, when the air conditioners that service the main equipment room stopped working (it was so cold that the refrigerant simply wouldn't evaporate in the evaporators) we bought four large portable A/C units. So I've been scouting out locations within the equipment room to place them, and locating 20a power outlets to plug them into.

I found several, and decided to trace them back to their source. All power outlets in this building have a label on them stating which panel and breaker (or fuse) services them. The four receptacles I chose were all labeled EP2-1B, CKT (xx). That translates to "Emergency Power, 2nd floor, Panel 1B, Circuit (whatever)."

Ok, I know where that panel is. It's in the equipment room, next to a riser.

Curiously, I'd never had a reason to open that panel before.

Here's what I found:

Sometimes, I have no idea how this TV station is still on the air...

I'm surprised the wires aren't looped through it with a sign with the next clue.

At first i was going to make a joke about how you have all this state of the art equipment and that your AC units do not have economizers.

Then i remembered the last post you made....

And to answer your question, no, i have no idea how you're on the air.

Unrelated, i've been at a job probably longer than JoeP's record.

Now... What piece of equipment do i stick one of these stickers on?
