This is almost a M.net style thread, just thought I'd share how pleased I was with my car this weekend. My girlfriend and I decided to go up to my parents house for the weekend, a little over 400 miles each way.

The car made the trip without fault. Filled up the car 3 times, emassing 841.5 miles out of 29.5 gallons of gas. A little over 28.5 mpg for the whole trip which was done with the AC on mostly at 85mph and included an hour inching along on I-10 behind a wreck, some top down driving, and a car that was probably a good bit overloaded.

The best part was absolutely demolishing an LS2 GTO on the highway with exhaust, lowered, and wheels (all I could see that was done to it). As I rolled past him driving home I depressed the throttle a little to lunge forward, he took the bait, downshifted and got into it. As he pulled by me I dropped it to 5th (this starting from about 85mph) and blew past him. I let off a little into 6th gear with about 4 lengths on the guy. A few seconds later he came screaming past at WOT. This, despite having just filled the car with gas, 2 people in the car, luggage for 3 days, and 2 complete sets of dive gear with tanks in the car, and on low boost, if only he knew.

Anyway, I was really happy with the car all around and just couldn't resist sharing the story.

 

I wouldn't hesitate to drive my truck to Alaska but I wouldn't drive my Miata to the corner for dip.
