There are Very Nerdy ways of connecting your awesome tomato router to a wireless N router such that the N router is doing nothing but providing the N speeds while the tomato router is handling all of the network control. At least I think there is.

I'm currently piggybacking my FIOS shitty actiontec router on the back of my tomato linksys and the linksys obtains the FIOS IP and doles out IPs via dhcp or static lease or whatnot and the shitty router merely does MoCA as a client on the tomato network.

Another vote for WRT54G. My old route, which was a **** poor excuse for a router made by Belkin, always gave me connectivity issues. I always blamed it on the ISP, but it was on my end. Got the WRT54G and it all went away. Been using it for a few years now. Very solid and for a great price.
