OMFG... way to embarass yourselves, Saab.

This is why language and grammar is so important. One word could change the entire meaning of that passage if it were included: energy.

:giggle:

Sadly Saab was the first to mass produce a turbocharged passenger vehicle in 1977 with their 99, apparently they can't hire good writers.

Braineack 12-21-2008 06:37 PM

Green sells nowadays...I'd write the same BS.

Can we still use our exhaust burger cookers with direct exhaust injection?

the first? before the mid 60s Chevrolet Corvair??

curly 12-21-2008 09:20 PM

yes, 1977 was before the 60's. Therefore I'm still right.

this man speaks the truth. Don't come in here and piss all over the thread. Well, unless you're into watersports...and if so P "ryan."

i would so rock a turbo vair over a saab any day. piss piss.

Nitroracer 12-21-2008 11:20 PM

What about the turbo oldsmobiles before the corvairs? 1962 Jetfire.

so you'd laugh if I bought a 9-2 2.0t or a 9-5 2.3t for my next DD?

curly 12-22-2008 10:16 AM

Braineack they're amazing cars. so comfortable, I've heard many car reviewers say that the 9000's seats are the most comfortable car seat ever made, and I agree with that. just avoid automatics( of the older saabs), the newer 9-3's and 9-5's are great.

the one modeled after the subaru is a great way to get a wrx for cheap, anyone read the article about it in the newest GRM?

nope, they're a steal for what you get.

i've driven a late 90s 9000 and an early 80s 900 and neither was offensive. the 900 rode very firmly and handled well without being uncomfortable. I didn't drive the 9000 much.

and of course the 9-5 isn't really a saab, now is it. plus Jim on the Office drives one.

BradC 12-22-2008 12:04 PM

I have a 9-5 wagon as my DD and love it. Its not a "fun" car, but its super safe, ridiculously comfy and fits a ton of shit.

curly 12-22-2008 12:11 PM

I had a 1994 saab 900 2.5l V6, only had 170hp but it felt amazingly fast. 5spd, did an indicated 145 on the freeway. This of course all before I knew I wasn't invincible, and before I put it sideways into a tree at 100mph. Walked away without a scratch if that tells you anything about their safety.

budget racer 12-22-2008 12:42 PM

i had a '97 900SE 2.0T. Fast, great MPG, comfy, best stereo i've ever owned.

mechanically it was excellent to me.......however, every damn gizmo was breaking on me.
they are too expensive to replace (auto climate control unit about $900), so i had to sell it.

Forgot about that! The Harmon system in my 9-5 is the best factory sound I've ever had. I have no desire to upgrade it at all, sounds great.

curly 12-22-2008 02:43 PM

I had the harmon system in my 9000 after I crashed the 900, it was indeed awesome. had the automatic that everyone said to avoid, and it blew up on us 3 times. we paid $2800 to get it fixed, it broke, fixed it under warrenty, it broke, fixed it under warrenty, and then we traded it in, luckily it didn't break on the dealer's test drive

Braineack 12-22-2008 02:45 PM

Of course I'd get a 5-spd. I live near a dealer of Saabs and Vovlos. Everytime I see the price tags I wonder why im driving my shitty altima.
