Any tips for shipping my first set of wheels with tires? Box them up or wrap them with some type of paper?

 

I usually just boxed em with some protection(like sheets of cardboard on either side of the wheel inside the box so its secure) to keep em from getting scratched/ dinged up.

So far no complaints from buyers.

 

same here.....I usually shipped them 2 in 1 box since we have 24x24x24 boxes at the local fedex..throw a bunch of cardboard peices on the bottom, between the wheels, and on the top....all good

I just got a set of wheels/tires shipped from Virginia. I asked for layered cardboard on each side of the wheel and stretch wrapped. He used larger garbage bags instead and taped them and it worked fine. They shipped Greyhound, BTW. WAY cheaper than UPS. Took three days from Virginia to Nebraska.

 

make sure you stick the labels to something that wont come off.

i once had UPS ship a flat piece of cardboard with a label on it 2500 miles and tell me my wheel wasn't lost.

tip: a "fall out" is not the same as a "lost package". the difference is that they can scan one.

the stretch wrap is the bomb. UHaul store sells the big / wide rolls.

 

After my one experience with greyhound....I won't be trying that method. Trip to alabama was suppost to take 12 hours or so...took two days, trip home took three..and I didn't get a dime back even after bitching. **** greyhound.
