The trial was just a show, everyone knew he was going to be killed. Im glad they killed him fast instead of waiting and giving time to insurgents.

I agree with magna. Although he was an evil peice of ****, its a very ugly sittuation. How would any ruler react to a rebel group staging an assassination? What would you do if a nation was giving you weapons to fight a war as a proxy, to find out that same nation was dumping weapons into the enemy you were contracted to wage war against. What if someone gave you chemical weapons to fight rebels / communists, then sends you to the gallows for using them?

With that said, he was an evil **** who cut off people's feet and executed thousands. I wish the media and our nation had the self respect to discuss how the USA empowered this evil man.

I'm curious what implications this will have on the sectarian violence there, especially around Baghdad/Sadr City. I would think Sunnis would be emboldened and the Kurds and Shia will celebrate. Time will tell.

all I've seen so far is the videos of where he is led up to the gallows and the noose put on his neck, they all cut off after that
